Ari Rosenfeld | Prep Hoops Scout
Another senior transfer for Roman, Presley came in after three years as a focal point at Germantown Academy and thrived as a key role player on his way to All-PCL Third Team honors. The rugged lefty was a consistent matchup problem for most of the league, using his size and strength to finish efficiently near the basket but also having the skill to his faceup game and expanded range on his jumper to be able to punish bigger, slower defenders away from the rim. After a slight adjustment period, Presley became a regular double-figure contributor for Roman. He projects as a surefire scholarship-level prospect with a chance to catch on at the D1 level in the right role.

Having gotten his footing after a slow start to the year and settling in as a consistent double-figure scorer, Presley continued his strong PCL season with a workmanlike 16-point effort. The Germantown Academy (PA) transfer took advantage of an undersized Bonner lineup, punishing smaller defenders as a scorer around the rim. Presley was effective as a cutter, roller, and faceup scorer off the dribble. He also knocked down a catch-and-shoot 3 after filling up to the wing in the flow of the offense. It was the type of efficient, hard-nosed performance that has Presley on the radar of scholarship-radar coaches down the stretch of his senior year.

It’s taken Presley a bit to settle in with his new surroundings, shifting from a go-to role at Germantown Academy to more of a support piece at Roman, but he experienced a breakout on Friday with a workmanlike 17-point performance to help key the win. The southpaw wing got the Cahillites started with 10 first-quarter points, filling in gaps without the ball as both a finisher around the rim and floor-spacer out to the arc. He was effective attacking off the bounce both from the wing and the high post, while also staying active on the glass against an undersized team and creating multiple extra possessions with O-boards. Presley continues to track as a clear scholarship-level prospect who’s now flying a bit under the radar.

Presley did a little bit of everything for his Roman squad. He provided a spark in a supportive role in their win over Bishop McNamara (MD). He finished with 9 points and a three pointer. I would like to see him work on his efficiency. He size allows him to eat away space on the floor. I liked his energy on the offensive glass extending possessions with his hustle.

After starring since his freshman year at Germantown Academy to the tune of nearly 900 varsity points, Presley will try his hand in the PCL and look to contribute to a championship run from more of a complementary role. A rugged lefty slasher, he uses a blend of skill, physicality, and athleticism to navigate his way to the rim and finish efficiently amid congestion. He’s a versatile piece defensively with his blend of strength, mobility, and IQ allowing him to switch both up and down the lineup from his natural wing position. The strides he’s made as a shooter will be the key determiner of Presley’s ultimate outlook, with D1 programs monitoring him closely and coaches at the D2 level hoping to see him fall through the cracks.
