The top guard in the senior class brought it in their 84-69 win against Meanstreets . He went for 37 points (14-20 FG) (7-9 FT), 5 rebounds, 4 dimes, and 3 steals. The insane shot making is what stood out in the early going for Black as he drained multiple corner jumpers off movement where he squared his shoulders to the hoop and knocked in a jumper. Liked how he creates space consistently on his shot. Then he went to work off the bounce with his crisp handles creating through gaps in the defense getting downhill for layups and trips to the foul line. Electric athlete who played above the rim, rebounded, and was a plus defender making his opponents work for what they got. His vision also stood out as when they tried to take him out of the game from a scoring perspective he would instead make quick reads which led to dimes or hockey assists.

would be Wednesday’s Most Valuable Player from the Peach Jam. Obviously I didn’t have the ability to see every game and every player, but I feel confident in doubling down on that take. The rising senior point guard continues to make a really strong case for himself as the top player in the Class of 2027 with an amazing summer with AB Elite 17u. On Wednesday Black had an incredible 37 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals in a comfortable win over a very talented Meanstreets backcourt.

AB Elite went 2-2 on the weekend and Black’s impact on a variety of winning categories was the most impressive takeaway from those four games. The 6-foot-3 point guard controls just about every action for his Texas-based club as a ball-in-hand scorer and creator who makes shots from all three levels of the floor and has dynamic open court and half-court feel and vision. Black was at his best when using ball screens where he diagnosed the defense, read tag defenders and made high IQ decisions with accurate passes.

Beckham Black heated up from deep, knocking down four three-pointers on his way to 17 points. Even when shots weren’t falling early, he stayed aggressive and continued hunting quality looks. His confidence and willingness to stretch the floor gave AB Elite a consistent perimeter threat throughout the game. Shooters who never stop shooting are dangerous, and Black proved why.

There’s a handful of NBA legacy recruits near the top of the 2027 class and Beckham is the younger brother of Anthony Black, a lottery pick from the 2023 draft. Beckham has taken his game to new heights this spring, dominating the EYBL circuit for AB elite as they are sitting at 9-2 with Beckham averaging over 21 points, four rebounds and six assists per contest. With Anthony playing at Arkansas a few years ago, the Razorbacks are certainly in the mix for Black but other powerhouses like Texas, Kentucky, USC and Georgetown are also rumored to be firmly in the mix in his recruitment.

Another elite level point guard in the 2027 class, Black is averaging 21.6 points and over 6 assists per game for AB Elite on Nike’s EYBL circuit, proving himself as one of the most productive backcourt prospects in the country.
