Iowa United had a hard time getting much going on Monday, but Huston was a consistent offensive bright spot. The talented guard was 3-6 from deep and led the way with 16 points in a 78-58 loss. His efficiency as a scorer really stood out needing just nine shots to get his team-high 16 points.

The first game I caught of the day was a grind it out style contest where Huston’s perimeter shot making ability stood out. Finishing tied for a game-high of 17 points, Huston can catch fire from the outside and I like how he plays on balance when attempting jumpers and floaters off drives. With a strong base, Huston isn’t pushed off his spot and his ability to space the floor next to Arafan Diane is a major reason why Iowa United Prep is successful.

is an elite versatile wing. He is the perfect play finisher. Whether it’s catching lobs, hitting threes off the catch, or attacking close outs he’s got you coverd. Avery is also elite at hitting threes on the move, he can fly off of screens and hit contested deep range shots. His touch is soft around both sides of the rim and he is a great vertical athlete. He is also great at using his shoulders and decelaration to create bump fadeaways in the midrange. Avery draws lot’s of attention from the defense becuase of this, and is elite at throwing skip passes producing wide open shots. Overall,

is a sharpshooting threat with three-level scoring abilities and real downhill pressure. Huston combines explosive above-the-rim athleticism and burst with elite shot-making and off-ball movement, making him one of the most dynamic offensive weapons on the court. His extra gear off the bounce allows him to blow by hard closeouts, collapse defenses, and either finish through contact or elevate over length. The threat of his deep range forces defenders into tough decisions, give up the three or risk getting put on a poster. He’s a foul-drawing machine and a momentum shifter with every possession.

as Dynamic Prep went on a huge run to ultimately win the game 61-39. Avery has been in the headlines lately for his impressive play on the EYBL circuit as well, hearing from schools such as Georgia, LSU, South Carolina, Syracuse, and New Mexico State. I was really impressed with the diversity of Avery’s offensive arsenal, and he will continue to turn heads playing on a stacked Dynamic Prep team.

Bouncy with effortless lift, Huston thrives in the open floor where he can catch lobs, rise for powerful two-hand dunks, or hammer home putbacks. But it’s not just athleticism, he’s a dynamic point guard and shot creator. Huston uses his pace and shifty handle to get to the rack, while also creating separation for pull-up jumpers. On defense, he pins layups off the glass and uses his tools to turn defense into instant offense. Huston is poised for one of, if not the biggest breakout summer in Texas.

Huston brings great energy on the defensive end and isn’t afraid to mix it up inside. With EYBL experience and an assertive playing style, he’s a name to follow closely.
