Continue ReadingClosing out the 2023-24 season’s high school basketball coverage with a look at the top players from Class 4A all the way down to Class B. With over 300 teams in the “Small School” classifications it was tough to narrow the teams down to only a handful of players. With that in mind and the wide scope of teams from all over the state, each team will have 13 players each. Which lines up with the number of scholarships Divison One programs have to give out for basketball. Also, team success and seniority often served as tiebreakers.
1st Team
DJ Dill DJ Dill 6'2" | CG Caddo | 2024 State OK , 6’2 Senior Guard, Caddo – One of the best pure scorers in Oklahoma, Dill broke 2,000 career points while leading Caddo to a runner up finish in Class A.
Dayton Forsythe Dayton Forsythe 6'3" | PG Dale | 2024 State #206 Nation OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, Dale – Forsythe put a capper on his fairy tale like high school career with a third straight Class 2A Gold Ball. Including a dominating 36 point performance in the title game, showing off his complete offensive arsenal.
Luke Gray Luke Gray 6'7" | PF Oklahoma Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’8 Senior Forward, Oklahoma Christian School – The dominant senior forward, rewrote OCS’s record books while leading the Saints to a 26-2 mark and Class 3A State Championship. With a reliable jumper to go along with his bruising frame, he’s finally starting to pick up momentum on the D1 front.
Justice Johnson Justice Johnson 6'3" | CG Hobart | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, Hobart – Johnson is a smooth guard, who had one of the most productive seasons of any player in Oklahoma. JuCo bound, he has the size and skillset to have a very productive career at a 4 year school following his stop at Redlands.
Kabron Lewis Kabron Lewis 6'2" | CG Hale | 2024 State OK – 6’3 Senior Guard, Hale – Lewis filled it up all season long, often facing doubles and other junk defenses. When he was on from distance, he was a complete game changer as a scorer.
Chris Mason Chris Mason 6'6" | PF Victory Christian | 2024 State OK – 6’7 Senior Forward, Victory Christian – The senior poured in 21 a game with a combination of a bruising style around the rim and outstanding touch out to the mid-range. He was a dominant force in the Class 3A State Tournament, helping Victory to a semifinals appearance.
Jett Mueggenborg Jett Mueggenborg 6'2" | SG Okarche | 2026 State OK – 6’2 Sophomore Guard, Okarche – The skilled sophomore guard, averaged 20 a game while helping Okarche to the Class A State Championship. With the Gold Ball and back to back appearances at the State Fairgrounds in march, Mueggenborg is putting together an impressive resume.
Jaden Nickens Jaden Nickens 6'3" | CG Douglass | 2025 State OK , 6’3 Junior Guard, Douglass – A special athlete with an amazing combo of speed, and explosiveness for his size. He averaged 16.5 a game, shooting the ball at an improved rate and supercharged Douglass’ Class 4A State Championship run.
CJ Nickson CJ Nickson 6'6" | SF Weatherford | 2025 State #309 Nation OK , 6’6 Junior Wing, Weatherford – Nickson averaged 16.5 points a game on a balanced Weatherford squad. He has the mid-range game of a smaller guard, with the power and explosiveness at the rim of a 6’8 forward.
Tucker Shepherd Tucker Shepherd 6'4" | SG Perkins-Tryon | 2024 State OK , 6’4 Senior Guard, Perkins-Tryon – One of the very best shooters in the state, the recent SWOSU commit averaged 18 a game for the Class 4A quarterfinalist Demons.
Davon Scott Davon Scott 6'2" | CG Douglass | 2025 State OK , 6’3 Junior Guard, Douglass – The elite shooter saw the expansion of his overall game as a junior. During the Trojans’ State Tournament run, he averaged 18.6 points game. Including clutch shots in the Class 4A State Tournament Title game.
Garrett Scott Garrett Scott 6'3" | PG Pocola | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, Pocola – The speedy lead guard lead Pocola to the Class 2A State Title Game. He averaged 21 a game for the Indians, with impressive shooting from distance.
Ethan Wilkerson Ethan Wilkerson 6'7" | PF Madill | 2024 State OK , 6’7 Senior Forward, Madil – Wilkerson capped a super productive career with a dominant senior season. The skilled Wildcat forward finished his career with the rare combo of over 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds.
2nd Team
Landry Ballard Landry Ballard 6'1" | CG Douglass | 2025 State OK , 6’1 Junior Guard, Douglass – The shifty lead guard averaged double figures while guiding the Trojans to the Class 4A title. He was a force in the Class 4A State Title Game, with crucial buckets that sparked the Trojans’ fourth quarter comeback.
Reid Cason Reid Cason 6'9" | C Kingston | 2024 State OK , 6’9 Senior Forward, Kingston – Cason controlled the paint for Kingston as one of the most productive players in Oklahoma. He has one of the more promising futures in the state, with his combo of size, movement and improving shooting touch.
Diezel Davis Diezel Davis 5'10" | PG Okay | 2025 State OK , 5’9 Junior Guard, Okay – The little guard is a sniper from deep, who also filled up the stat sheet by dropping dimes and having quick hands for steals for the Class A semifinalist Mustangs.
Jervais Goree Jervais Goree 5'8" | PG Preston | 2024 State OK , 5’8 Senior Guard, Preston – A flatout bucket, Goree put defenders on skates all four years of his career. Finishing with over 1500 points and helping Preston to back to back Class 2A State Tournament appearances.
Carson Jones Carson Jones 6'3" | SG Oklahoma Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, Oklahoma Christian School – A sharpshooter from deep who saw his game steadily developed as an upperclassman. He averaged 16.5 points a game, while forming a dynamic one-two punch with Gray for the State Champs Saints.
KJ Nichols KJ Nichols 6'3" | SG McLain | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, McLain – Nichols is a skilled scorer who averaged 19 a game for a Titans squad that reached the Class 4A semifinals. He’s just as likely to drain a three over a defender as he is to attack the rim.
Wyatt Powell Wyatt Powell 6'3" | SG Metro Christian | 2024 State OK , 6’3 Senior Guard, Metro Christian – Powell is a powerful and quick guard, who shot over 40% from three in the regular season. After finishing as runners in 3A last season, he helped the Patriots to another trip to the Class 3A State Tournament.
Kray Rogers Kray Rogers 6'2" | CG Fort Cobb-Broxtom | 2024 State OK , 6’2 Senior Guard, Fort Cobb Broxton – After winning Class B last year, Rogers put up big numbers all season long, reaching over 1500 points for his career. The SWOSU committed set a school record of 47 points in a single game for the tradition rich Mustang program.
Nate Reherman Nate Reherman 6'6" | PF Weatherford | 2024 State OK , 6’6 Senior Forward, Weatherford – The rugged forward showed off his range from deep with a fantastic shooting performance in the Class 4A State Championship game. He’s also a plus rebounder and versatile defender.
Ethan Sage Ethan Sage 6'7" | SF Weatherford | 2025 State OK , 6’7 Junior Wing, Weatherford – A “3 and D” impact player, Sage averaged double figures points a game for the Class 4A runner ups.
Tate Sage Tate Sage 6'7" | SG Weatherford | 2025 State OK , 6’7 Junior Wing, Weatherford – The evolution of Sage’s playmaking skills were apparent this year, while also averaging double figures. He has a versatile game and is a big reason why the Eagles won 28 games.
Dakotah Terrell Dakotah Terrell 6'8" | C Pocola | 2025 State #335 Nation OK , 6’9 Junior Forward, Pocloa – An athletic and powerful force in the middle. Terrell anchored the Indians run to the Class 2A State Championship game with powerful slams and dominant play in the paint.
Xon Williams Xon Williams 6'2" | PG Millwood | 2024 State OK , 6’2 Senior Guard, Millwood – The senior guard enjoyed a strong season for the Class 3A runner ups, as a speedy end to end threat with improved finishing and scoring capabilities.
