It makes sense that with Breenan Burns (Bethany 2020) and Jett Sternberg (Kingfisher 2019) on the current roster that Kelly Green and the staff at Southeastern Oklahoma State trusts small school scorers in Oklahoma to produce at the D2 level. Because along with 2,000 point scorer

above, they have locked in 2,000 point scorer Wilkerson.
The senior forward fits into modern basketball thanks to a skilled face up and shooting game that blends well with his workman like mentality around the basket. Sure he’s going to grab boards like a mad man, even punch home powerful dunks when given a lane. But he will also make opponents pay from deep, while having the skill to get off shots against taller or quicker foes. Wilkerson made a State Tournament appearance as a sophomore at his previous school Silo, while this year he has helped Madil to a top 10 ranking in 4A. Which has given them a strong position to navigate through Area IV and earn the opportunity to finish his high school career under the bright lights of the Big House.

The small town forward is closing in on landmark career stats in his final season of high school hoops. Wilkerson is nearing 2,000 points, 1,000 rebounds and 300 blocks. He has Madill off to a 7-0 start, which included a couple quality wins in the Madill Winter Classic against fellow 4A teams, Purcell and Ardmore. In the Purcell contest, he was a bully on the block, racking up points by getting deep position or crashing the offensive glass. As the game progressed he was able to break out a left handed baby hook to add more variety to his scoring.
In past viewings, especially in the wider opened nature of AAU basketball vs small town basketball, he’s shown more of a face up game. Late when Madill was protecting their lead, Wilkerson showed some of those aspects. As he played a key role as a primary ballhandler to help spread out the defense to open angles to attack. Defensively, he’s not an explosive leaper, but he routinely showed a good understanding of positioning and defensive rotations to block or alter shots.
On the recruiting front, he’s a D2 blue chipper for Oklahoma programs with nearby East Central and Southeastern among the schools that have offered. While Southwestern (where his former high school coach is) and Northeastern have also extended offers.

The skilled southern Oklahoma forward helped his hosts Wildcats to the Madill Winter Classic title. They handled business with double digit wins over fellow 4A programs Purcell and Ardmore. It was a record breaking for Wilkerson, as his 82 points over the 3 games broke a tournament record that had been held since 2004. He has been pouring on the points for the last few years in southern Oklahoma, and is one of the more underappreciated senior standouts in the state.
Wilkerson, who can score in a variety of ways, is one of the top available seniors in Oklahoma. And now has Madill to a 5-0 mark to start the season.

One of the most productive scorers in southern Oklahoma, Wilkerson is a versatile at the rim threat, can attack off the dribble and operate in the mid-range and hit the occasional three pointer. Along with his scoring traits, he’s hard hat wearing, cleaner of the glass on both ends of the court. Wilkerson made the State Tournament with Silo as a sophomore, and now after coming up short in Area last season, will be looking to end his productive high school career with a trip to OKC with his Madill Wildcat teammates next March.

A skilled and savvy forward prospect, Wilkerson is an effective scorer from 15 feet in. He has a good mid-range jumper, post up and face up game. At the rim he has good touch, and has flashed scoring upside while playing against national competition with Texas Pro Skills this spring. Along with the scoring, the Madill Wildcat is also active on the glass.

Wilkerson hit the 20 point mark on only 11 shots Pro Skills against Team WhyNot. He followed that performance up with 8 points and 8 rebounds. It appears the skilled forward is starting to find his footing on the national 17U level.

A packed zone defense limited Wilkerson’s impact on the night. There were a couple times he was able to catch the ball near the basket and muscle through the crowd to finish, where he has great touch around the rim. But overall he was kept quiet. His jumper wasn’t working on the night either. Past viewings of Wilkerson during national grassroots tournaments were promising, but it was disappointing to not see more out of the often skillful and industrious forward.

Ethan Wilkerson Ethan Wilkerson 6'7" | PF Madill | 2024 State OK made the move from Silo to Madill and despite Madill coming up short on Thursday in the regionals to Tuttle, Wilkerson had another successful season. Wilkerson was outstanding last season as a sophomore and he hasn’t gotten enough attention from the statewide perspective. Wilkerson is exceptionally talented on the offensive end of the floor. We watched it first hand last season as teams had problems with it on the biggest stage of the state tournament. Most opponents simply don’t have to personnel to slow down Wilkerson. As he continues to get stronger, he’ll become a big problem.

The skilled big man from Southern Oklahoma helped Silo to a Class 2A semifinal appearance as only a sophomore. Now after often being tested against the nation’s best on Nike’s E16 circuit with Pro Skills out of Texas, he’ll be looking to take Silo even farther. His combination of size and face up ability makes him an exceptionally tough match up on the offensive end.
