The speedy senior also stretched the floor with consistent three point shooting from the corners in the contest. This provided needed gravity for the drive heavy focus Millwood squad, while also allowing Xon to feast on his way to over 20 points. It was an impressive, complete and mature performance for a player who has had an up and down high school career. But looks to be ending on a high as a key part of a squad going for a three-peat. With signs of improved shooting and overall finishing, Williams is an intriguing option for Oklahoma JuCos.

The sense of the senior urgency seems to be kicking in for Williams as he looks set to play a key role in putting the Falcons in contention for their third straight 3A title. He continues to impress with toughness for his skinny frame and more explosiveness on his drives. He’s turning into a dynamic slasher and was the Falcon who got to the rim and drew the foul with the game tied in the closing seconds. He calmly drilled both free throws, which gave his team the opening round win at the John Nobles Tournament.

The Millwood guard was his team’s most consistent weapon on the offensive end. Williams has always had great end to end speed, but now he’s more confident and stronger in the halfcourt. He scored tough buckets on drives throughout the contest, with good change of direction ability to get to the rim. But he also looked sneaky strong for his skinny frame when he did have to muscle through contact. The upside has been there, but signs are pointing to him putting together a strong senior campaign and becoming a priority for regional JuCo programs.

In Impact’s victory, the athletic and aggressive guard was all over the court. Feasting on transition opportunities, that he often created. But he wasn’t just looking for transition points, his overall game was scrappy. Williams used his long arms to be competitive around the rim against bigger foes on the defensive end. Then his good quickness made him a constant threat off the bounce in the halfcourt.

had plenty of range and that was on full display as he would finish with 17 points. He did the majority of his damage from the perimeter and really started heating up in the second and third quarters. Williams was also a key part of the defensive pressure that led to a lot of those Millwood run outs that ended with easy buckets for Nickens. Williams is known more as a scorer but his defense in the Millwood backcourt was fun to watch as they gave the Bruins quite a few problems throughout the day. And when Williams started heating up from beyond the arc, that was clutch down the stretch. Every time Bartlesville would make a run and close the gap, Williams and the Falcons were right there and would respond with a quick basket to keep the Bruins at bay.
