The 6’4″ guard led his team in scoring with 22 points against Roland in the state title contest. The senior was able to show his versatility also this season. His ability to rebound and push the ball sparked easy opportunities for both himself and teammates. VanBuren has a quick second jump on the offensive end that allows him to also snag offensive rebounds against longer defenders inside. As a scorer, he showed confidence and good elevation in his outside shot but is at his best when his is attacking downhill in both transition and against a set defense. He can finish with either hand and shows good strength and toughness around the rim.

Similar to Barrett, VanBuren is load off the bounce. Tough as nails as a scorer at the basket. He brings a bit more power with his game, thanks to having the body of a D1 linebacker. But he’s every bit of a hooper, with good feel as a connector when playing in the middle of the zone. And has improved his shooting touch in the mid-range too with a good pull up game. Rebounds like a bigger player. Should have strong positional versatility at the next level as well.

The unsigned senior of Millwood’s big three. He was a double digit scorer and stat stuffer in both of the Falcons’ rim. Which is a perfect representation of what he brings to the court. VanBuren is a physical and athletic guard, he rebounds like a forward and is an efficient finisher. To compliment his bully guard style scoring at the rim, he looked improved shooting in the mid-range. One of the better prospects in Oklahoma, who sacrifices some individual production for team success with the Falcons.

“Silm” was HUGE for the Falcons. He paced them in scoring with 25 points and grabbed 6 boards. On a team filled with lightning fast guards, he’s a bruiser inside. While also supporting a complete offensive skillset. The bully ball guard has the Falcons in the State Title game, and they are looking to add to their expansive trophy case.

For many programs in Oklahoma, VanBuren would be the primary scorer. Which he still does get buckets for the Falcons, but he’s unselfishly bought into the role as a bully ball guard who also makes a living on the offensive glass. This display of versatility should make him appealing to college coaches looking for players that are switchable on the perimeter. Offensively, he’s often too strong for regular guards. While also capable of going by many of the forwards in Oklahoma. Has a battler mentality, which will be crucial for Class 3A favorites, Millwood.

Joined Barrett in taking it to Southmoore from the opening tip. “15 and foot” in monster for the Falcons. Broad shoulders and strong frame make him a bowling ball when attacking the rim, buts he plays with a good control thanks to often playing off two feet. Very consistent in the mid-range as well. Unafraid to do the dirty work, often scoring on putbacks. Forms a very formidable three headed monster with his fellow top Falcon juniors.

Physical, big body guard, who produced 11 point and 10 rebound double double. Made the biggest play of the night when he was the one to coral a hot potato loose ball and score the game winning bucket. Along with crashing the glass and scoring at the rim, hit in the mid-range too. Good upside player, who has found and is thriving in a role for the Falcons.
