It was a back and forth first quarter, before a big second quarter from Douglass juniors Davon Scott Davon Scott 6'2" | CG Douglass | 2025 State OK and Jaden Williams Jaden Williams 6'2" | SG Douglass | 2025 State OK put the Trojans up double digits at the break. But Millwood would find their footing on the defensive, slowly chipping away at the lead. A scoring sport from Millwood junior Chance “Bubba” Davis would help put the Falcons only down a point going into the final eight minutes. The fourth quarter was a back and forth affair, with the teams trading big threes before the teams traded the lead in the final moment, ending with Scott being fouled in transition with 0.7 seconds left and the game tied. The junior would miss the first but drain the second to secure a Douglass win in a dramatic ending to a game between two teams with legitimate State Title aspirations.
Davon Scott Davon Scott 6’2″ | CG Douglass | 2025 State OK ‘s junior year ascension into a more complete scorer continued on Saturday night. When given catch and shoot opportunities, he often buried them but he’s no longer limited to waiting to get hot in the half court or transition opportunities. Scott was more confident on drives, and during a big Douglass run to close out the second quarter it was him at the forefront. It started with a mid-range stepback, where he exploded with violence to his movements to gain the separation needed to get his shot off. The junior also plays very fast on the defensive end, with the best example of that coming with a huge chase down block in the fourth quarter. The junior always plays with his hair on fire, and that allows him to leave a mark on both ends of the court.
The Millwood guard was his team’s most consistent weapon on the offensive end. Williams has always had great end to end speed, but now he’s more confident and stronger in the halfcourt. He scored tough buckets on drives throughout the contest, with good change of direction ability to get to the rim. But he also looked sneaky strong for his skinny frame when he did have to muscle through contact. The upside has been there, but signs are pointing to him putting together a strong senior campaign and becoming a priority for regional JuCo programs.
Dashawn Ransome

A relentless rebounder, Ransome lived on the offensive glass throughout the contest for Douglass. He’s quick off his feet and that allowed him to rack up the rebounds. The junior even got loose in transition and punched home a big slam during the exciting fourth quarter. He still has the look of a player who doesn’t realize just how good he could be yet. But he’s starting to figure that out, especially with the motor and desire he plays with. He presence adds an extra dimension to the guard heavy Trojan squad, which is fulfilling a prediction made about the importance Ransom would carry to the team that was made at OU’s team camp, last June. A promising longterm sign was when he knocked down an elbow jumper off a catch and shoot opportunity.
It shouldn’t be a surprise that the sophomore guard excels at pressuring the ball and playing defense. He chipped in with the occasional score, nailing a three and showing good patience with a ball fake on a drive and left handed finish. As a youngster it looks his game comes in spurts but there’s some promising long term signs. Similar to his older brother (TO Barrett) as the same stage of his career, Barrett is one of those watch in “6 months players”. As he’s getting stronger and quicker and those traits should explode in the near future.
Williams shares a similar profile to his teammate Scott, as a sharpshooter who is maturely into a complete offensive threat. He’s not as explosive as Scott with his movements, but he’s got a stronger looking frame that is starting to fill out. It was evident on some of his tough finishes around the rim, and the way he plays defense. From putting his body on the line to take charges, to hounding ballhounders the junior plays with a tough and productive edge on the defensive end.
The junior continues to have ices in his veins, as he had a key spurt that brought Millwood within a point in the third quarter. It start with a great baseline drive, where he got great elevation on a fingeroll finish through contact. He followed it up with a big three from a few steps beyond the three point line. As Davis is starting to become more bouncy and stronger on drives, he’ll can be a reliable complete scorer for the Falcons.

Speaking of ice in the veins, Morales was Mr Clutch for the Trojans. Down one, just under a minute left, he scooped up a loose ball and raced to the rim. He drew the foul, and went to the line with a chance to put his squad his head. With simple deep breaths and a calm demeanor, he buried both free throws to put the Trojans ahead. Along with his late game heroics, he’s a key part of the waves of pressure that Douglass can put on their opponents on both ends of the court. He even had a productive stretch in the first half with left handed finishes at the rim.
