Summer Standouts from the 6A Ranks

Oklahoma's summer basketball season delivered standout performances across multiple circuits, giving a glimpse of who could make major impacts this winter. With the release of the latest OSSAA reclassifications and current transfer information in mind, here are a few players who caught my attention this summer.    Jasper is a kid that showed up day in and night out to every single game he had. I mentioned his name at every event I scouted him at. He showcased that he could hold a large role in the paint for his Oklahoma Chaos team while his teammates battled injuries. He's the type of player that does everything right and even more on top.   Standing at 6'4, he's able to stretch the floor with ease. He excels at creating opportunities outside the arc, from the mid-range, and inside the paint. Chaves is always moving around the floor looking to make something happen for his guys. He's got some crafty moves to get past defenders, excellent coordination for catching the alley-oop, and a tough grit that allows him to grab countless boards. He will be a major piece to his Southmoore squad as they look to go back to the State Tournament and hunt the gold ball.     [player_tooltip player_id='2552719' first='Cooper' last='Witte'] is a name to know entering the winter season. He's an elite guard who can own the floor at all times. He continues to prove he's one of the most underrated 2028 prospects. He brings great pace, keeps the rock tight under control, and holds an advantage over his defenders with his bag full of moves. His quick first step allows him to burst downhill and navigate through traffic. He brings some crazy athleticism to the floor which he shows with his highlight jams at the rim. On the other side of the ball, he's just as impressive. He has active hands defensively and consistently turns steals into transition opportunities. Expect Witte to emerge as one of Oklahoma's top breakout guards in the 2028 class this winter.     [player_tooltip player_id='3710450' first='Keaton' last='Reynolds'] introduced himself to the state of Oklahoma with an excellent weekend in Norman on the NXTPRO circuit. He's a 6'2 Combo Guard who thrives in fast-paced environments. He gets down the floor, absorbs contact, and finishes strong. His jumpshot is crafty as well. He can pull up from the mid-range and connect from beyond the arc. He had an impressive performance in Norman averaging over 20 points in a game proving he's poised to give Owasso another reliable scoring option in the backcourt this season.     [player_tooltip player_id='2761655' first='Traylin' last='Reed'] had an overall impressive summer. He's a 6'3 Combo Guard who steps up when the challenge arises. He brings intensity and urgency to the floor at all times. He can get down the court in a breeze. He showcased this with a big time play going down 94 feet in less than 7 seconds to finish over a defender in the paint for the game winning bucket.   Traylin has the ability to produce himself and fuel his teammates for scoring opportunties. He dropped 20 or more points in a game a handful of times while also sharing the rock. Reed is just a smooth athlete in general. He excels at making his defender bite the hesitation, which allows him to access the paint where he uses his tough moves to finish off the glass. I strongly believe Traylin will have a major role for the Muskogee Roughers for his senior season.     [player_tooltip player_id='2431703' first='Brayden' last='Ball'] set the tone for what will be a breakout season as he enters his sophomore year. Last year at Westmoore, he started almost every game as a freshman and made a solid impact. This summer he proved he's ready to return and do much more for the Jaguars.   Each time Brayden touches the rock, opponents should fear what happens next. He can score at all levels and create opportunities for others. He's got a great feel for the game and always looks comfortable out there. Handling pressure is nothing for this dude. He went up against some tough matchups with his Team Oklahoma squad and never backed down. To finish the season off, Brayden averaged 21 points and 7 rebounds a game at the Bryan Live Period on the NXTPRO circuit. He's a consistent scorer who produces at high levels for several statistics.
