With winter tryouts underway, let's get into the nitty-gritty of the preseason hype and go over my preseason All-State picks. I'll start with the seniors most likely to bring home the honors, then we'll mention some more seniors, juniors, and one sophomore who could make a splash and earn All-State at the end of the year. Here are my favorites for the award:

Top Picks

[player_tooltip player_id='1863196' first='Ethan' last='Harris'] Camas

Harris has been one of the top names in the state for the past two years, and he will carry a heavy load for the Papermakers this winter. He's a do-it-all wing who has shown his dominance over the spring and summer, and should be a nightly stat-sheet filler this season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2021624' first='Brady' last='Hennig'] Mount Si

Hennig returns for his last season at Mount Si as their clear-cut, go-to guy, and will be used at an even higher rate than last season with the departure of Lattimore Ford to Combine Academy. He's one of the top scoring threats in the 4A with his smooth stroke and deep range.

[player_tooltip player_id='2375347' first='Lance' last='Horntvedt'] Richland

The Richland wing was nearly a 20 and 10 guy last winter and has leveled up his play this offseason. The Bombers have sky-high expectations this season, and Horntvedt will again be a key guy with his size and athleticism. He teams up with the next guy on this list to try to cap off their high school careers with a 4A title.

[player_tooltip player_id='1685503' first='Landen' last='Northrop'] Richland

Northop exploded last season, breaking several records at Richland, and is just 552 points away from 2,000 for his career. He's a shooter with some size and strength to finish at the rim, and can take over games with his outside shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id='2021596' first='Carter' last='Cohen'] North Creek

The athletic 6-foot-11 forward led North Creek to the opening round of the state tournament last season, their first appearance in school history. Cohen has really improved his efficiency from each level, shooting 47% from 3PT, 85% on FT, and 55% on 2FG. There aren't many players who can match up with his combo of size, athleticism, and shooting.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863251' first='Jamaize' last='McGriff'] Emerald Ridge

One of the most athletic players in the state, McGriff is a guy who draws a lot of attention from defenses, and his ability to pick up on those cues and be a facilitator can make this Emerald Ridge team a really dangerous squad this winter. He has a solid squad around him, but he is still the difference maker on both ends and one of the top players in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2021598' first='Daniel' last='Johnson'] Auburn

The Montana State commit showed us just what he can do to lead his team last season, performing at a peak level during the state tournament where he averaged 19.0 points, 6.3 rebounds, and shot 50% from 3-point. The shifty shooter will spearhead their attack again this winter with plenty of talent around him to make a run.

[player_tooltip player_id='1863193' first='Brandon' last='Tagle'] Kentwood

Tagle has proven himself as one of the top point guards in this 2026 class with his instinctive play and ability to dish and score at a high level. Kentwood loses a couple of key seniors from last year's squad, but has some other guys ready to step up, and Tagle will be key in making sure that team continues to be a force in the 4A.

More Seniors to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='1685505' first='Malakai' last='Weimer'] (Skyview), [player_tooltip player_id='2021594' first='Giovanni' last='Moimoi'] (Kentridge), [player_tooltip player_id='2021608' first='Dez' last='Daniel'] (Skyview), [player_tooltip player_id='1863250' first='Jordan' last='Bennett'] (Emerald Ridge), [player_tooltip player_id='1587955' first='Parker' last='Mills'] (West Valley-Yakima), [player_tooltip player_id='1685495' first='Mateo' last='Cummings'] (Lake Washington), [player_tooltip player_id='1927274' first='Reed' last='Nagel'] (Glacier Peak)

Juniors/Sophomores to Watch: [player_tooltip player_id='2196830' first='Jaylen' last='McLaughlin'] (Bothell), [player_tooltip player_id='2400280' first='Raider' last='Finau'] (Bothell), [player_tooltip player_id='2144895' first='Jayden' last='Hunt'] (Lake Washington), [player_tooltip player_id='1685500' first='Karson' last='Maze'] (Mead), [player_tooltip player_id='2384270' first='Aiden' last='Sanchez'] (Sunnyside), [player_tooltip player_id='1936885' first='Edison' last='Kan'] (Glacier Peak), [player_tooltip player_id='2473468' first='Austin' last='Birley'] (West Valley-Yakima)
