Nagel was in the driver seat for Glacier Peak during their sixth-place run at this year’s tournament. While different teammates stepped up in different games, Nagel was the constant for the Grizzlies. He led the tournament in assists with 26, ten more than the next most. He was top-five in total points, and top-10 in FGM, 3PM, and FTM. And, for a guy who caught our eye his freshman year with his hustle and hard play, it’s only fitting he goes out leading his final state tournament in total minutes played.

Nagel had a game-high 20 points, and it seemed each bucket was a hard-earned point. He had two big threes, worked to the line for nine attempts, and was finishing tough shots inside. He also hit a running 3-pointer with 4.0 seconds left to cut the deficit to one.

He’s a guy who has the mindset to come through in clutch moments and ended up having a few huge plays late in the game. In addition to setting some guys up off his drives, all three of his 3-pointers came in big spots, late in the shot clock, at the end of a quarter, and kept momentum on Glacier Peak’s side.

Nagel has really been an improved jump shooter this season, and it showed with some tough midrange shots against West Valley. But he also showed off some impressive ability to finish at tough angles inside, get some crafty reverses to go, and did a great job in the pick and roll to patiently work it, find late windows for passes, and made some great reads to take it all the way himself.

Seems to be ready to take a big step forward offensively this winter and be one of their relied-upon scorers. Still brings some excellent toughness and grit at the point, but has really improved his jumpshot off the bounce in the midrange and his set shot from deep.

Has really improved as a shooter and scorer from the point spot with a heavier usage both with his AAU and high school teams this summer. Continues to look much improved and more confident from 3-point, and has started to establish the middle pull-up as a go-to shot. Still a tough kid who can handle contact at the rim and will be a key guy with a different looking Glacier Peak squad this winter.

Nagle is another tough guard who will make a bunch of little plays that add up over the course of a game and can adequately deal with pressure as the primary ballhandler. Sneaky shifty and can create space to attack downhill, and does a good job working quickly off the catch to get the angle on defenders. He’s a big-time hustler who will crash in on the offensive end to lend some help on the glass.

He picked up the scoring while their top guy had an off night, and it proved to be the difference in a 2-point win over Camas to get them into the semifinals. He was money with several faders around the foul line and consistently got a solid bump on his defender to get space and score from his spot. He finished with 16 points to lead the Grizzlies.
