Tagle continues to elevate his play and his team, as Kentwood starts the season off 7-1 with Tagle playing a major role. He’s a kid who can energize his team by creating turnovers on defense, and really zipping the ball around, identifying key skips off his drives, and getting his teammates the ball with some flow. He’s had several 30+ point games so far while also remaining their key playmaker offensively.

Tagle has shown up as a key facilitator and high IQ player for Seattle Select this spring. He’s a crafty player on both ends, evading pressure with change of speeds, ball fakes, passes, and lookoffs. He plays with acute awareness defensively and makes some highly instinctual plays, staying aware of where guys are and working to be in the right spot to make plays off the ball. Had one game against Cali Hogs where he got a steal and layup, then quickly read the guard trying to get open on the inbound and stole that pass then hit a three. That sequence put Seattle Select up eight late in a tight game and epitomized his ability to quickly impact a game with his heady and ready play.

Here is a player who continues to show improvements every time he steps on the court. Tagle picks apart defenders with his dribble, handling the ball at an elite level and being able to get his own buckets but also create open shots and easy buckets for his teammates. His pick and roll game is outstanding as he can stay patient with the ball and let things develop to his everyone open.

Just a wizard with the ball at times and was on his game against Sumner last week, getting to the rim, weaving through defenders with grace and ease, and mixing in some outside shots to keep defenses off-balance. Can deploy crosses and spins without losing momentum and maintains balance and control while attacking and reading the defense. Made some great reads in the second half of this game to quickly find the open man once the defense put a stronger emphasis on cutting down his drives.

The junior point guard was supremely impressive over the weekend, controlling the pace, controlling his defender, and making plays all over the court. He was efficient from long-range, scored in the paint with various finishes, and cashed in at the foul line. He made plays with his passing, made big steals on the defensive end, and even made some important plays on the offensive glass in the championship game where he finished with 23 points.

Tagle has been trending up since last winter as a young point guard who can run an offense and score the ball. He’s expanded his scoring profile this spring and looked more aggressive with the ball in his hands. It will be interesting to see him get back with his high school team and watch him run the show.

Tagle is an advanced player for his age and he showed it with his strong takes to the hoop and ability to create off the dribble. On one drive, he took the ball right into the body of a 6-foot-5 defender, created just enough space, and got the shot up and over the defender and through the net. He’s a really smart player who has the ability to set the pace as he did Saturday by bursting past defenders and either finishing or getting to the line.
