Jacob Bail
About Jacob
Expert Analysis
Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Bail had a great start to the season in a win over Todd Beamer, scoring 21 points and knocking in six 3-pointers. The majority of his threes came off the catch, and a few came in really clutch moments, but aside from just impressing with his long-range shooting, Bail also continued to impress with his improved IQ. He made a few really quality cuts when being overplayed, and also did a great job slowing down Beamer’s backcourt pressure by taking retreat dribbles to get space and the ability to see the floor. He’s taken a big leap forward for a Kentwood team sitting at 7-1.

We saw Bail primarily as a catch-and-shoot threat last season, but he has quickly become a rising point guard prospect who can capably play both guard spots. He’s a tough kid who, aside from being a strong 3-point shooter, has added to his paint finishing and proven to be a reliable ballhandler who can defend his position. Look for him to play a much bigger role at Kentwood this winter.
