We are just under a week out from the NW June D1 Recruiting Event, and we are also just about halfway through our preview of each team attending the event. In this article, we highlight the Kentridge Chargers, Kentwood Conquerors, and the Kuna Cavemen. Kentridge and Kentwood will both look much different this season without top players Giovanni Moimoi and Brandon Tagle. Kentridge also graduated four other key seniors, while Kentwood returns a few key players that should keep them a competitive squad. Kuna has a healthy amount of their squad coming back and should once again be one of the top teams in Idaho's 6A next winter.

Kentridge (WA)

Classification: 4A

2025-26 Record: 19-6

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2751572' first='Jaylen' last='Keowla'] 6-1 CG 2028

Keowla is the lone returning starter from last season. His understanding of the offense, leadership, and poise with the ball will be crucial for them this coming winter. He's a strong combo guard who can spot up and space the floor, or use his physicality to get to the rim. He's displayed an impressive awareness for situational basketball and will be a key guy on both ends of the floor for the Chargers next season.

[player_tooltip player_id='2936573' first='Jameir' last='Harris'] 5-11 PG 2028

Harris is a quick guard who will help them get penetration and shift defenses with his ability to attack gaps. He can hit the three at a decent clip too and plays with an aggression on both ends of the floor that should inject energy into this Kentridge team next year.

Kentwood (WA)

Classification: 4A

2025-26 Record: 14-10

Key Players

[player_tooltip player_id='3165186' first='Bryson' last='Manaway'] 6-1 CG 2028

He's a guard who stepped into a larger role last season and will surely get another bump in minutes this coming season. He's a slasher who can split defenders, has a nice first step, and has a variety of moves to finish with. His scoring will be needed, as well as his ability to handle the ball and get them down the court.

[player_tooltip player_id='2835560' first='Jacob' last='Bail'] 6-0 PG 2027

Bail came on the scene as a guy who can hit the outside shot and space the floor. And while he will still be a key threat from outside, he also started taking on more ball-handling responsibility last season, showing his ability to be their next point guard. His ability to break pressure and set the team up in the half will be even more critical next winter.

[player_tooltip player_id='2457269' first='Caleb' last='Ross'] 6-5 SF 2027

Ross is a long wing who does a good job defending off the ball, has the length to get into passing lanes, be a key rebounder, and chase down plays from behind. He'll also be a kid who can space the floor or show off that athleticism at the rim.

Kuna (ID)

Classification: 6A

2025-26 Record: 20-7

Key Players

Emmanuel Chabukah 6-7 2027

Good athlete at 6-foot-7 with some downhill power. Attacks well on straight line drives and has the strength to knock defenders off of him. At his best when he's playing physically around the paint, but does have the ability to stretch the floor and dime up a teammate on occasion, and seems to play better catching away from the hoop where he can get some momentum going.

Bridger Barrus 6-5 2027

He's a pretty solid all-around player. He's got the height and athleticism to help out on the glass, is a versatile defender with the lateral quickness to keep up with smaller guards, and he can play out of a lot of different roles offensively. You might catch him bringing the ball up and setting up their offense, or working off the ball and spotting up from three. Whatever he does, he plays with pace and energy, and is a kid who can turn the corner and pick up steam downhill.

Bauer Barrus 6-2 2028

The younger Barrus filled a consistent role last season as a kid who can pick out some key passes while providing 3-point shooting and some sparkplug plays. He's a smooth shooting lefty guard who plays pretty smart basketball, and showed some good awareness and reactions on the defensive end to make some plays.

Hendrix Castro 6-2 2027

Castro is a strong guard who does a good job shifting defenses with key passes in the halfcourt and has the strength to play patiently and work smaller guards in by the paint. Shoots the three well enough to be a threat, but it's really his strength that creates mismatches with opposing guards.
