Been super impressed with his play this summer. He played strong through every phase of the game over the weekend. Helping his team out with rebounding, being a physical driver and defender, showing good communication, and knowing when to be assertive and when to exploit a matchup. He had one moment that kind of encapsulates his approach to the game early on against Northwest Greyhounds. His team came out a little sluggish for the 10 AM game, but Keowla made an aggressive attack off the catch to get to the rim and score. Seems like a little thing, but it demonstrates his understanding and feel for what his team needs in certain situations.

Keowla is a really heady guard who can make plays with the ball in his hands, scoring and facilitating. But what sets him apart is his ability to read and react. He’s always timely to the ball and space, making great cuts and flashes, trailing plays, giving teammates secure outlets, and being in the right spots for big rebounds and timely defensive plays.

Kentridge is on pace to have their best season since 2022-23, when they finished 17-6. They are currently 16-3 and have already doubled their win total from a year ago. A large part of their growth this season has been the all-around impact of sophomore guard Jaylen Keowla Jaylen Keowla 6'1" | CG Kentridge | 2028 State WA . He understands their offensive concepts, makes great reads with the ball, and has shown the ability to knock down big shots inside and outside.

Keowla already played a big role at Kentridge as a freshman, and he’s continued to look strong on both sides of the floor this summer. He’s a kid who can handle the ball and run the point with poise and strength, and brings a well-rounded skill set to the floor. He’s been big for the Chargers, knocking down threes off kickouts, and creating some downhill drives with quick attacks off the catch.
