O’Dea has been one of the toughest and most physically imposing teams this winter, and this sophomore guard has helped them keep the pressure high on both ends of the floor. Duckett plays with great intensity on both ends. He has the quickness and decisiveness with the ball to get to the hoop and finish strong. And he shows good instincts under pressure to get out of bad spots and make quick decisions.

Duckett was a kid who popped up on our radar early last season with his ability to add some pace to the game and beat his man with a quick first step. He does a good job getting to the middle of the floor and making plays, whether that is dropping in midrange jumpers or creating some nice feeds to cutters and shooters. He’ll be a kid to watch at O’Dea this winter who could see more action for the Irish.

Duckett has already been playing some good minutes at O’Dea, playing with pace, attacking players off the bounce and showing how effective he can be darting in and out of gaps. He also has a good feel for working in the pick and roll, attacking bigs that come up and then buying his time to get a good passing window to the roller or identifying the right pass to swing it back the other way. He was really impressive in the Curtis Classic against some tough competition and will be a name to watch in the coming years.
