Cummings came in to the tournament with a unique skill set, and he capitalized on that ability by finishing tied for third in 3PM and tied for second in blocked shots. He had his biggest game in the trophy round against Emerald Ridge where he finished with 19 points, eight rebounds, two assists, two blocks, and two steals, while converting 5-of-9 from deep. He wasn’t as efficient in their earlier games, but his presence and versatility were big factors, and it always seemed when his shots did fall, they came in big moments.
It wasn’t a great overall shooting night for Cummings, but in a tight, defensive game, his three 3-pointers proved big. It also felt like each rebound he had was a big one, and he was a key part in Lake Washington getting the ball out after defensive stops and up the floor. He also had some big defensive plays inside that helped hold Zach AlbrightZachAlbright

was a big reason why they’ve had such success, but Cummings is the other guy who has really helped elevate them. He is one of the top shooters in the state, and continues to grow as a defender and shot-blocker. His versatility and ability to stretch the floor will be key for the Kangs this season.
One of the biggest risers over the summer, Cummings has the size and outside shooting to be a big contributor in any lineup. He’s shown over his high school career that he has a pure outside stroke, but now with his added size, he can also be a key rim defender, and use that size to get down closer to the hoop and use his touch from different areas on the floor.
Cummings, a floor spacing forward out of Lake Washington in Washington, impressed with his ability to make standstill and movement threes both in the half-court and in transition. One of the better shooters in the gym, he has great positional size and a quick release on his jumper. He’s a fluid mover that uses his length to his advantage on the defensive end of the floor and makes an impact as a rebounder in space. Offensively, he’s capable of finishing with either hand around the rim and excels as a pop guy out of ball screens.
Cummings has been a standout shooter since his freshman year and was a key guy at Lake Washington last season when they won 19 games. He now stands at 6-foot-7 and has been playing with EBC this spring as their defacto big man in the starting five. During the winter season, I think he was around closer to 6-foot-5 and still showed some good shot blocking around the rim and improving defensive coverage. Now that he’s continued to grow he’s getting a chance to defend in the post more this spring. He was already a pretty intriguing prospect with his size and shooting, but the fact that he continues to grow only adds to the excitement about his future. He’s certainly a kid to watch this spring and summer who will get to play out of different spots and continues to pose matchup issues on the offensive end. He could be a big riser heading into next winter.
Easily one of the top shooters in his class, Cummings has the size and stroke to be a difference-maker from the outside. Pure, repeatable shot, he made 40% of his threes this season while also shooting 88% from the foul line. He can also play around the rim with some shot blocking and rebounding and was a key cog in Lake Washington’s team that helped them finish the year at 19-8 and atop the Kingco Crest.
