Ryan Morgan | Prep Hoops Scout
Moimoi showed a good mix of touch, athleticism, and power to score from different levels. He opened up his day by draining a wing three, then showed some power and balance to split defenders and attack angles that cut off any chance help defenders had at getting to his shots. He finished well with both hands and had some big plays fighting on the glass with his quick second jump.

Incredible strength for a wing who can shrug defenders off on drives and when working to go back up after o-boards under the rim. That strength helps him draw fouls in the paint too and has the quick feet to make a move in traffic and quickly burst up high at the rim. Hard worker who has multiple moves to get shots off around bodies and work his way through traffic to the hoop.

Moimoi has been one of the most improved players this season, emerging as a real leader and go-to guy for Kentridge. He’s always shown some impressive athleticism and a big motor but he really took a big step forward working from the perimeter, off the dribble, and knocking down jumpers at a higher rate. He’s become stronger with the ball on attacks while staying under control, creates space off of two feet exceptionally well, and has been a bully getting downhill and to the rim. He has a greater understanding of what spots he wants to get to and how to get there, and overall looks more confident on the attack.

Kentridge had a tough time with some of Lynden Christian’s strength, but Moimoi was one guy the Chargers could count on to battle inside. He’s a kid with tons of spring and was able to use that plus great timing to get some big blocks inside. He’s also pretty crafty inside with his back to the hoop, working both sides of the basket well, using leverage to get some quick spin moves in and was finishing pretty well on either side of the hoop. He really turned it on offensively in the fourth quarter and had an impressive showing against some strong bigs for the Lyncs.

Moimoi is a player who can make an impact just with his athleticism and hustle but as he gets more comfortable handling the ball and driving from the perimeter, he should take off scoring the ball. He’s done a lot of damage on the offensive glass and scrapping for putbacks this summer and has shown some versatility on the defensive end. He has the burst at the rim to be a legit finisher and is a guy to watch who is still pretty raw in his ability.
