There were 13 games played on Monday night featuring Indiana High School Basketball teams. However, Tuesday evening is the unofficial opening night of the season. This is the first time we get a full slate of games and Prep Hoops Indiana will be out in full force covering some of the best games around the state. Let's take a look at the five best games to watch from border to border.

Fishers @ Ben Davis

It doesn't get much better on "opening night" than this. Our own Logan Greenwell will have boots on the ground for this heavyweight matchup. Fishers, coming off of another trip to Gainbridge Fieldhouse, begins the season ranked #2 in our Prep Hoops Indiana poll. Their backcourt remains the best in the state with superstar juniors [player_tooltip player_id='2267046' first='Jason' last='Gardner Jr.'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2140345' first='Cooper' last='Zachary']. Then, this season, they have added 6'8" senior big man [player_tooltip player_id='1509229' first='Kai' last='McGrew'] to the equation. On the other sideline, Akron signee [player_tooltip player_id='2625235' first='JaShawn' last='Ladd'] leads a Ben Davis team that checks in at #13 in our preseason Super Poll. The Giants were dominated in this matchup last season losing at Fishers 71-36. They will certainly have revenge on their mind as they return home tonight, but it is never easy to topple the Tigers.

Floyd Central @ Silver Creek

This is the game that I will be covering this evening. Silver Creek enters the season as the clear #1 team in Class 3A. Richmond signee [player_tooltip player_id='2476482' first='Dane' last='Caldwell'] and Stony Brook signee [player_tooltip player_id='1385611' first='Kasen' last='Daeger'] along with junior point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140328' first='Brandon' last='Hunter'] and senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561483' first='Dane' last='Sprigler'] create one of the most talented cores in the entire state. The Dragons feature plenty of depth as well. They will open up the 2025-2026 season against Floyd Central. Junior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2140414' first='Landon' last='Reed'] returns as the Highlanders leading scorer. He averaged 16.4 points per game as a sophomore and shot an impressive 64-186 (34.4%) from three-point range. Senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2272819' first='Carter' last='McQuigg'] will be one to watch this season as well.

Mishawaka Marian @ Blackhawk Christian

6'9" senior center [player_tooltip player_id='2394088' first='Prescott' last='Horvath'] will be a load for every team on Mishawka Marian's schedule to handle. He brings back 12.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game from last season. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560955' first='Brandon' last='Foster'] is the top returner in the backcourt bringing back 4.8 points, 2.6 assists, and 1.6 steals per game. Those two will create a solid inside-outside punch for the Knights, but finding some guys to step up around them will be the key. Blackhawk Christian comes in just outside of our Class 3A Top 10 this season, but could quickly prove they belong. Senior guards [player_tooltip player_id='1738845' first='Briggs' last='Pardon'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2218634' first='Payton' last='Rhinehart'] along with talented sophomores [player_tooltip player_id='2539827' first='Bryce' last='LaCross'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2539823' first='Drake' last='Sefton'] create a very solid backcourt. This Braves team won't have much size, and against Horvath that could be a problem, but that backcourt will give them a chance in every game they play.

Princeton Community @ Wood Memorial

Prep Hoops Indiana Class 1A #6 Wood Memorial hosts #4 Princeton Community to open up the season. Wood Memorial made it to the Sectional Championship game last season and return three key seniors from their 19-7 team. Franklin College commit [player_tooltip player_id='2625553' first='Houston' last='Schoonover'] is the top returner bringing back 18.3 points per game. Parter Conder averaged 15.4 points per game last season and [player_tooltip player_id='1560960' first='Chad' last='Sullivan'] chipped in 8.8 points and 5.0 assists per game. That trio of seniors will make the Trojans very dangerous this season. Indiana Junior All-Star [player_tooltip player_id='1560964' first='Edwin' last='Holmes'] does a little bit of everything for Princeton. The 6'6" forward averaged 16.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game. Senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1560981' first='Demarcus' last='Newson'] is a key returning piece as well. Then, the Tigers picked up two impact transfers during the offseason. 6'5" senior forward [player_tooltip player_id='2892468' first='Drew' last='Wilkas'] moved-in from Florida while Top 25 Class of 2028 prospect [player_tooltip player_id='2539928' first='Quintyn' last='Voltz'] moved-in from Decatur Central High School. This will be a fun game to watch down in southern Indiana.

Westfield @ Scecina Memorial

Scecina Memorial has a chance to really surprise some people at the Class 2A level this season. They are ranked #8 in our preseason poll while Westfield is #14 in our Super Poll. The Shamrocks feature Abilene Christian signee [player_tooltip player_id='1988138' first='Drew' last='Haffner'] and 6'10" junior center Luke Vandergriff. They have several talented pieces surrounding them as well to provide shooting, depth, and athleticism. As for Scecina Memorial, 6'5" sophomore forward [player_tooltip player_id='2617866' first='Jaylin' last='Foster'] is one to watch. Fellow sophomore [player_tooltip player_id='2881715' first='Boomer' last='Minch'] and senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='2272817' first='Adrian' last='Hill'] along with Perry Meridian transfer [player_tooltip player_id='2477113' first='Bryce' last='Mathis'] make up a dynamic backcourt for the Crusaders. Don't be surprised if this game is played a little closer than you would expect.
