The athleticism always pops when watching this 6’4″ guard play. Ladd can get up and finish above the rim, gets great elevation on his jump shots, and can be disruptive defensively. He is arguably the best shot-blocking guard in the state of Indiana. Currently committed to Akron, Ladd has turned in a very impressive career at Ben Davis High School.

One of the best stock-risers we have seen in the state played his final game of high school career last night and he put up an elite performance. After not starting due to a hand injury, he came in off the bench carried Ben Davis in many ways as he tried to lead them to victory. He had a game-high 26 points in his final appearance for Ben Davis.

The Akron bound 6’5” guard was outstanding early and often in the first game of the season against #1 Fishers. He’s a long and athletic perimeter player that was feeling it from deep and once he got going, there was no stopping him. With his size, length, and athelticism, it’s difficult to contest his jump shot with his high release. Knocked down five three-point shots in the game, but continued getting downhill and stayed in attack mode instead of settling.
Stats (vs Fishers): 28 points | 3 rebounds | 2 assists | 1 block

It obviously is no surprise that Ladd, a borderline Top 10 prospect and Indiana Junior All-Star, would be among the top performers at the Metro Indy Fall League. However, the Akron commit really stood out on Sunday. He looks to have potentially grown a bit even just from this summer and is as bouncy as ever. A few of the dunks he had at the end of his drives stopped everyone in the gym in their tracks. Ladd’s impressive combination of perimeter skill as a shooter and explosiveness as a finisher above the rim is really, really impressive. Look for him to have a big senior season at Ben Davis High School.
