It has been pretty clear that one of the top emerging guards in the Indiana class of 2028 is

. McDuffey has been one of the bright spots for the loaded Indiana Elite 2028 team and is expected to parlay that into June. McDuffey is a player that can make plays both on and off the ball and not get sped up in any way. He plays at a smooth pace being a great ball handler and be a sharpshooter from behind the arc.

McDuffey provided valuable ball handling, playmaking, and three-point shooting throughout the weekend for Indiana Elite 16u at 3SSB Session II in Mishawaka. He is a strong, bigger guard that can play through contact and is a willing passer when driving it to the basket. When playing off of the ball he was a solid catch-and-shoot threat as well. He fits in well alongside a very talented Indiana Elite backcourt.

has the ability to go on stretches where offense comes easy. Capable of playing on or off the ball. Plays with a physical frame that helps him get to spots off the dribble. Crafty ball handler that allows him to squeeze into spaces and get shots off. Confident shooter off the catch that also made plays off the dribble getting all the way to the rim. Continues to get comfortable in a loaded backcourt for Indiana Elite with more scoring opportunities coming his way.

Arguably the top player performance I saw on Sunday was from Ben Davis point guard

. McDuffey played more of the on-ball guard on

16U on Sunday and with that, his ability to create was more available. Thought he was real smooth in the lane and did a good job of finding good open looks that he took advantage of.

made a strong case for having one of the best showings at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp on Sunday. The 6’3″ wing from Ben Davis High School scored at a very high level throughout the event. He creates well off the dribble, which allows him to make plays in the lane and find space for his three-point shot. On Sunday, he knocked down a bunch of threes—and did so in impressive fashion.

There are a lot of talented young prospects at Ben Davis, but McDuffey is the one who has broken through and earned some varsity minutes as a freshman. That is not easy to do. The talented playmaker is very comfortable with the ball in his hands and can make advanced reads off of a ballscreen for a young player. His development will be fun to follow in the coming years.

There is no denying the playmaking ability of this 6’1″ point guard that will be coming through the system at Ben Davis High School. McDuffey is shifty with the ball in his hands, displays a tight handle, and is able to consistently get two feet in the paint off of the dribble. Regardless of whether he is creating a shot for himself or a teammate he is always the straw the stirs the drink offensively when he has the ball.

One of the more talented playmakers in the gym on Sunday, McDuffey is excellent at getting to his spots off of the dribble and can score at a high level from the lead guard spot. He has a deep bag of dribble moves that he uses to create separation for pull-up jump shots and can get downhill to finish with a floater in the intermediate range or get all of the way to the rim. The Ben Davis High School product is definitely one of the next guards in a long line of successful backcourt prospects for the Giants.
