One of the biggest stock risers from the Prep Hoops Expo in the fall, McGuinea is one of the most talented vertical athletes in Ohio’s 2027 class. McGuinea was flying across the court with multiple jaw dropping dunks and blocked shots. Improving as a ball handler and perimeter shooter, McGuinea is going to have the opportunity to play with the ball in his hands for a Bedford team that sits at 2-1 with their lone loss to Saint Ignatius. Expect to hear a lot about McGuinea and Bedford this winter around northeast Ohio.

McGuinea was clearly on another level athletically, putting together multiple explosive dunks that set the tone in the gym. His energy and motor stood out just as much as his athleticism, making him a constant impact player throughout the day. He was playing hard and running hard in transition because he knew the opportunities to dunk it would be there. He was playing with great energy, and his teammates fed off of it. Impressive showing from McGuinea.

One of the more athletic wings in the state, McGuinea can fly in the air and throw down powerful dunks with impressive explosiveness. A rare two foot leaper at his height, McGuinea is comfortable rising up even with rim protectors around the area. A strong athlete who doesn’t get pushed off his spots as a slasher, McGuinea is tough when he’s able to turn the corner with the ball in his left hand. Showing development as a shooter as well, McGuinea is a prime candidate to be a breakout player in northeast Ohio next season.

McGuinea showed great slashing ability. He has great acrobatic finishes, with contact, and with either hand. He gets downhill quick and puts the ball in the rim. He has a good build with a nice length and is sneaky strong. He attacks the rim with such aggressive intent that players stop wanting to get in front of him as the game goes on. He can step out and hit an open shot when left open. Really solid defender as well that is great perimeter quickness and applies good pressure.

A high level athlete on the wing, McGuinea was flying on the fast break with a couple thunderous slam dunks. With a strong frame and good athleticism as well, McGuinea has the physical ability to be an impact defender and forced a couple of turnovers on Friday night. That strength also allowed him to power through a defender in the paint for an easy layup. Versatile athlete who checks a lot of boxes, McGuinea is a valuable piece at both the high school and grassroots level.

McGuinea is a very raw hooper who can flat-out put the ball in the rim. He is an ultra-aggressive player that shoots and scores the ball at a high volume. He is great at changing direction and having the defender flip their hips. He is always attacking the top foot. He gets his spot and gets his shots up. He has a long wingspan with some nice bounce as well. I’m going to love to see his development over the years.

A lengthy guard with very impressive size at the 15U level, McGuinea was simply on another level athletically. The lefty uses long strides when attacking the rim, converting on several euro steps. McGuinea also broke a few double teams handling the basketball, which speaks to his skill-set as a 6’3″ guard. Displayed some quick twitch as a help-side defender. Again, he was on another level.

Mcguinea showcased his athleticism and scoring. He excels in transition and can finish around the basket in traffic and through contact. He connected from mid-range off the catch and dribble. He relentlessly crashes the boards and converts offensive rebounds to points at a high rate.
