Being able to make shots and score the basketball on a top shoe circuit is easier said than done and Bowman had another big game shooting the basketball on the perimeter with a handful of catch and shoot 3-pointers. Bowman does a nice job mixing from being a primary ball handler and spot-up shooter, giving him value both on and off the ball depending on what his team needs from him. I’ll be looking for Bowman to stay in the weight room this fall to get stronger and add an impact in the rebounding category for his team by the time his junior year rolls around to continue to round out his game.

A big game for Bowman, knocking down shots from all over the court against All Ohio Red , Bowman made some key plays to help his team get back into the game. Bowman knocked down a 25 footer, a 3-pointer off a pin-down action and a time and space 3-pointer. When Bowman is able to get to the paint, he is exceptional at making skip passes across the court to teammates, making heads up plays like that on both ends of the court. Bowman will be a key piece for Midwest Basketball Club’s defense of the 2028 3SSB title.

Bowman had his work cut out for him all game as the primary ball handler and creator for Lakota East. Being tasked with creating offense for the team almost every possession, Bowman was being chased around by two or three defenders at a time. A very skilled lead guard, Bowman did a nice job of turning the corner and helping get the defense into rotation. Able to make passes with either hand, Bowman had a sweet lefty assist to a shooter early in this game. Bowman also has the most 3-point makes on the team as he scored off a pin down action on the wing for an open 3-point look. One of the top guards in the 2028 class, Bowman did what he could for a shorthanded Lakota East squad that will hope to have a few younger players take leaps this off-season to get back into conference title contention. Their win over Cincinnati St Xavier shows they are in contention against some of the top teams in the area.

A prospect who has been an instant starter at the varsity level, Bowman is the primary creator for the Thunderhawks after the graduation of Trey Perry. Bowman has wasted no time making a big impact by scoring over 17 points per game and dropping over three assists per game through the first four games of the season, helping Lakota East to a 3-1 record. Expect them to be a tough out in the GMC this winter.

Another year where Lakota East is led by a stud point guard. From Nate Johnson to Trey Perry to now Bowman, the Thunderhawks have always had ELITE point guard play under Clint Adkins. Bowman is one of the most skilled players in the state for his grade as his poise on the ball in unbelievable. Excellent with both hands, Bowman had multiple tough finishes and skip passes with his left hand on Friday afternoon. Knocking down clutch shots when the ball gets swung to him as well, Bowman is one of the most productive 2028 guards in the state right now. Making a strong argument for a rankings bump before our next update in either December or January, Bowman is playing at an extremely high level right now.

One of the top prospects in the entire fall league, Bowman certainly made an impressive opening weekend statement. Playing for one of his high school assistant coaches, Bowman is getting the opportunity to create virtually everything for his team and thrive with the ball in his hands. Bowman plays extremely hard for a top prospect and scored a handful of buckets off pure hustle. Impressive to see a kid who won a 3SSB championship in the summer and the leader of a Lakota East squad give full effort in a fall league but that’s the type of player Bowman is. Lakota East’s culture typically brings out winning qualities in their players and Bowman certainly is as good as it gets in the Thunderhawks program when it comes to making winning plays regardless if they appear on the stat sheet.

I liked the game Bowman put on. He was doing a little of everything you want out of your starting guard. He is a sophomore who does not play like one. He is a great passer and knows how to distribute the ball to his teammates. He has a high IQ and feels for the game. He handled the pressure put on him very well. Bowman then started to find his pockets of scoring, too. He stepped in and hit some big threes. He finished strong around the rim with great touch as well. I really like Bowman’s game.

The Trey Perry era is over for Lakota East as one of their best players in school history graduated this past season and this allows for some new names to establish themselves as the next stars of the Thunderhawk’s program. Bowman could be that guy as he has been given the freedom to run the offense with the ball in his hands as just a rising Sophomore. A high IQ player for his age, Bowman had numerous assists on Friday with his most success coming when he was attacking off the dribble and making the help defender pay. As a scorer, Bowman found his most success as a catch and shoot sniper from 3-point range, converting a high percentage of his off the catch looks. One of the best lead guards in southwest Ohio’s 2028 class, Bowman will be a name people know across the GMC by the time the season ends.

Another GMC mention on this list, Bowman was Lakota East’s third leading scorer on a senior laden team with a pair of freshman getting valuable minutes to continue to build the future of the program. Bowman actually first got on our radar last spring when he played up for All Heart 15 U and they won the championship on Memorial Day weekend. I was impressed by Bowman’s feel for the game and ability to make shots efficiently from 3-point range. I’ll be sure to check Bowman out for Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB this summer!

A polished guard who played up 15 U this summer and got plenty of experience playing against older talent, Bowman wasn’t phased by the bright lights of a varsity debut. Under control with the ball in his hands and able to make a couple plays off the bounce, Bowman played his role well and seems to be fitting in with a Lakota East squad that is gritty and in the right spots defensively.
