One of the top players in Cincinnati regardless of class, Coffey looked dominant as a slasher on Sunday morning. Tough to keep in front at the point of attack, Coffey uses his combination of quickness, change of direction and strength to get to the paint. Once Coffey gets going downhill, he usually makes the right decision on whether to go up with a layup or pass to a teammate. Expect a big season for Coffey who already is a name well known after just his freshman season.

Coffey was living in the paint during a 9 AM win to help his team move on to the elite 8 of the championship bracket. One of the quickest guards in Ohio, Coffey is able to blow by the primary defender off the dribble and did a nice job of finishing through contact and making the right read when help came over to stop his dribble drive. Coffey also made a couple of jumpers, a key skill for him to continue to display. When Phenom United can lock up defensively and push the pace with the ball in Coffey’s hands, they are an extremely dangerous team.

As a freshman Coffey was relied on leading Lebanon offensively and finishing 6th in the ECC in scoring and 3rd in assists per game as a freshman. A quick guard who could change directions and speeds, Coffey is tough to stop when he’s attacking downhill. For Coffey he already made a splash as one of the most productive players in the Cincinnati area for his age and will look to improve his efficiency from 3-point range and lower turnovers as he continues to develop and mature as a player. College programs have already taken notice of Coffey as Ohio University and Kent State have offered him.

Coffey who started off on a tad of a slow start really got into a groove in the 2nd half. He was great at navigating downhill and has an array of finishes around the cup. Coffey sees things from a far and is able to read and react to things on the fly. He is quick footed and uses it towards his advantage.
