Mansfield Senior feeds off of Brooks. He is the clear leader of this team, and his team plays just like him. With confidence and edge, not backing down to anyone. This is impressive to begin with as a sophomore, and then his skill is elite. He was really good at getting downhill and had some amazing touch around the rim. He had multiple acrobatic finishes. He was great at making one move in a one-on-one situation and blowing by and scoring in the lane. He is a really good shot maker from beyond the arc as well. He can catch and shoot it and also come off screens well. He is a good athlete who can get it done on the court.

Brooks is a highly talented guard. He has great size and has grown going into his sophomore season. He looks physically bigger, and this opens his game up to being more effective as a driver in the lane. He has turned into a true three-level scorer due to his growth. He is a nice athlete, too. I think Brooks is turning himself into a great all-around player and is limiting the weaknesses in his game.

Brooks caught fire from 3-point range on Friday morning as he showcased his ability to get buckets in a hurry. With a lightning quick release and the movement skills off the ball to find open shots, Brooks is a strong off-ball option for Phenom United as he’s a guy his teammates want to get the ball so he can score. When Phenom United stretched their lead from around 10 points to 25 points in a hurry, Brooks was a key part of that run. I also liked some of the on ball defense Brooks showed me this morning, the next step in his offensive game will be becoming an elite passer to set up his teammates.

Brooks has been one of the top guards in Ohio’s 2028 class and was scoring efficiently at Ohio State’s team camp. Able to attack from a triple threat position, Brooks combination of perimeter shooting and quickness makes him a tough cover. When Mansfield Senior had their most offensive success, it was usually when Brooks was making shots, setting his teammates up or getting the team out in transition. During July I’ll be focusing on Brooks defensive ability playing next to other top talent.

One of the more polished scorers in the 2028 class, Brooks can catch fire from 3-point range or use his quickness and slashing ability to score at the rim. A consistent performer, Brooks was a standout at our freshman showcase back in the fall and impressed when I saw Mansfield Senior this winter as well. Earning second team all conference honors, Brooks has already established himself as one of the top players in his area of Ohio. Look for Brooks to continue to make noise this grassroots season as his offensive talent is very impressive.

After a slow first half, Mansfield Senior needed a spark, and Brooks provided that. He is a tough player and impressed me with his motor and toughness. He then went off in the second half as he found a zone from beyond the arc. His shot was coming off his hands quickly and with a ton of confidence. He has a great skill set as a quick guard. He is a scrappy player as well. He is a unique player because he is scrappy and skilled. Most players are not both but he is. A really good defender and sneaky good on the boards.

One of the most productive freshman in Ohio, Brooks has had a strong start to his high school career. I’ve seen his confidence as a shooter grow with some tough 3-pointers running off screens on Saturday. Transition is currently where Brooks shines as he’s able to finish at the rim or make the right read to a teammate to put them in a position to score. Brooks can also turn defense into offense by quickly turning a steal into a breakaway opportunity. I’m really encouraged by the current production and motor Brooks has shown me. The next time I watch him I want to see him be confident with his left hand attacking off the dribble and finishing at the rim. Long time for him to grow into the skills he isn’t as polished with at the moment.

Brooks was one of the top scorers at the camp as his elite straight line speed and quickness was on full display as a driver. Combine that with acrobatic finishes at the rim and soft touch on layups and he was incredibly efficient at the rim. I actually got to see Brooks in June starting varsity for Mansfield Senior and it was nice to see Brooks against competition his own grade level at this camp and comparing what I saw Vs varsity competition. Brooks projects as an immediate contributor on varsity as a freshman.

A rising freshman, Brooks is already one of the key players for Mansfield Senior. With good quickness and the aggressiveness to get to the paint, Brooks had some tough layups in transition and attacking closeouts. Mansfield Senior wants to play fast and that plays right into the style I saw Brooks playing on Friday. I thought Brooks showed me impressive skill by finishing at the rim with both hands. Lots of upside with Brooks who should make an immediate impact at the varsity level.
