Jordon Johnson-Perdomo
About Jordon
Expert Analysis

Jordon was one of the shiftier guards I spotted all weekend. He understood his strengths well and used his lateral quickness and tight ball handle to get downhill and find open teammates. Defenses struggled to stay in front of him at times as he proved to be tough to contain. In WV Gold’s first matchup of the day, he left his defender wobbling on several occasions. The time at which Jordon forced his matchup to hit the floor proved to be the most pleasing to the crowd, to say the least.

I’ve always been impressed with the ball handling, quickness and overall offensive skill that Johnson-Perdomo has shown. Finishing fourth in the GMC in both scoring and assists, Johnson-Perdomo was one of the top offensive guards in greater Cincinnati this past winter. What really impressed me the most in the playoff game I saw him play was his toughness and leadership. Picking up the top opposing ball handlers and making them work, making sure his team got into their offense and moved the ball, relentlessly attacking to get to the foul line, all of these skills will be the ones that can push Johnson-Perdomo past a large group of talented sub 6 foot guards in the Midwest.

I was so impressed with the intangibles Johnson-Perdomo showed on Saturday night, displaying toughness and a winning attitude that will allow him to go far in his basketball career. Obviously, he’s one of the more skilled point guards in Ohio’s 2028 class, but I was so impressed with the leadership he showed and he made plays that didn’t show up in the stat sheet. Combine that with some silky drives to the rim and a nasty pull-up 3-pointer when the game was slipping away in the fourth and Johnson-Perdomo ends his sophomore season on a high note individually for a Hamilton program that returns a decent core for next season.

Johnson-Perdomo had himself a nice showcase. He is a great athlete with impressive bounce. He would always finish towards the rim and attack the paint with a first and aggressive. He put a ton of pressure on the basket and was constantly getting to the rim. He is an efficient and talented driver.

Another Cincinnati area prospect who made a statement at the varsity level as a freshman, Johnson-Perdomo averaged 10 PPG and 4 APG in the tough GMC as a freshman. A very quick point guard, Johnson-Perdomo can get where he wants to off the bounce and has started to develop a mid-range and floater shot to avoid going up against shot blockers in the paint. That skill will be crucial for his scoring efficiency because it’s very difficult to stay in front of him off the dribble and if he can consistently make shots from the in-between areas on the court then he will be a tough cover at the high school level.

An undersized guard who can get where he wants to off the dribble, Johnson-Perdomo is one of the shiftiest guards in Ohio’s 2028 class. Nobody on Middletown could stay in front of him and when he got past the initial defender, he did a nice job of using the floater to avoid shot blockers and show off his natural touch. When the help defense swarmed Johnson-Perdomo on the dribble drive, he usually made the right decision to kick it out to a shooter and ended with a game-high six assists. You’ll be hearing a lot more about this Cincinnati area guard over the next few seasons.

It’s a new era of Hamilton basketball with a new head coach and a new era of freshman. The reigning GMC middle school champs were led by Johnson and he stood out immediately at the varsity level. A point guard with a feel for the game beyond his years, Johnson made quick decisions on the drive and dish game. Loved how hard Johnson competed on the court as an undersized freshman point guard. The dribble drive game of Johnson to look to either score or pass was effective as Johnson scored on floaters and hit the big men sitting in the dunker spot for layups. A name to know in southwest Ohio’s 2028 class.
