of Carmel High School. Shostak is still a raw prospect as a frontcourt player but has shown some great flashes for

2026 this spring so far. He is a big post player that has a soft touch around the rim while taking up so much space on both ends of the floor. He will be one of the more intriguing players in Mishawaka this weekend.

We have yet to see this prospect play a minute of varsity basketball. However, anytime you see a legitimate 6’8″ center at Carmel High School that has some impressive raw skills you know he will be a big time player down the road. That is just the way the process works at a place like that. Remember the name, because Shostak will be one of the top big men in Indiana’s Class of 2028 when it is all said and done.

We highlighted Shostak as a top overall prospect simply because of his size, raw ability, and the fact that he will get to develop within the well-oiled machine that is Carmel High School. The 6’8″ center is just scratching the surface of what he can become down the road. Right now he finishes over his left shoulder inside, rebounds his area, and can be in the way defensively at the rim. However, his long-term upside is what is really exciting. Definitely a name to remember.

When a 6’8″ freshman center walks into the gym and shows you just about anything on the floor you can’t help but be intrigued. However, it helps even more when that 6’8″ freshman center attends Carmel High School. Shostak is just beginning to scratch the surface of what he can become, but flashed some of his upside at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. Especially if he grows another couple/few inches, don’t be surprised if he is Division I big man down the road.
