It is finally time for the first live period weekend of the AAU season and we at Prep Hoops Indiana are more than excited to see what our in-state prospects do. There are multiple places that will be hosting big time AAU events in which there are expected to be multiple colleges coaches in attendance across all host sites. The live period starts on Friday but before we get there, let us look at my second five players to watch for this weekend.

While his younger brother Landon Lampley is one of the highest-rated players we have in the state, older brother [player_tooltip player_id='2266897' first='Kenneth' last='Lampley'] is a very intriguing prospects, as well. More of a true forward interior player than his younger brother, Kenneth is a super long player with some skill at 6'6. He will enter into this very important first live period weekend with a public offer from Rutgers and Mississippi State. Watch him with Meanstreets 17U.

One of our top rising guards in the Indiana class of 2027 is [player_tooltip player_id='2140449' first='Trell' last='Hogue']. After a very strong start to the spring AAU season, the Fort Wayne Snider guard is ready to put together a strong live period weekend with UNRNKD 17U on the ECYL Circuit. Hogue is a super dynamic guard at 6'2 with true microwave scoring ability and floor vision to be strong playmaker all-around. He comes in this weekend with no public offers but that could certainly change.

A guard that is starting to really breakout in the Indiana class of 1018 is [player_tooltip player_id='2409540' first='MJ' last='Wilson Jr.'] of Crown Point HS. He has had a strong spring with Gran Park Premier 16U and is arguably the highest-rated prospect in many ways. There is always a player that breakouts at a high level in the first live period weekend, and that player could be [player_tooltip player_id='2409540' first='MJ' last='Wilson Jr.'] with GPP playing on the Pro16 circuit in Tulsa. Wilson Jr. is a 6'5 wing that brings high energy and can make impacts on both ends of the floor.

One of the biggest prospects -- literally -- in the Indiana Class of 2028 is [player_tooltip player_id='2560400' first='Mark' last='Shostak'] of Carmel High School. Shostak is still a raw prospect as a frontcourt player but has shown some great flashes for [program_tooltip program_id='2317250' first='Indiana' last='Elite 3SSB'] 2026 this spring so far. He is a big post player that has a soft touch around the rim while taking up so much space on both ends of the floor. He will be one of the more intriguing players in Mishawaka this weekend.

Arguably the top forward prospect in the Indiana class of 2029 class is [player_tooltip player_id='2385390' first='Max' last='Hopkins'] of Fishers High School. A multi-sport athlete with having already earned some football offers, Hopkins has been one of the highlights for [program_tooltip program_id='2317250' first='Indiana' last='Elite 3SSB'] 2029 this spring with his elite versatility at 6'8. Hopkins can make many plays on the floor and is becoming a true inside-out threat. This could be the weekend he sees some basketball come his way.
