Otite showed a ton of promising flashes on both ends of the court. The 6’10 big continues to stand out as an exceptional shooter, now pairing his perimeter touch with greater assertiveness and physicality. Defensively, he impressed with his timing and positioning as a shot-blocker, protecting the rim and altering plays. Otite’s blend of size, shooting, and defensive instincts gives him notable upside moving forward.

A name who is no stranger to our rankings, Otite reclassed from 2026 to 2027 and is now a ‘new name’ in the 2027 class. Otite is an exceptional rim runner with the explosiveness to finish lob passes for alley-oop dunks and putback dunks off misses. Otite was a great addition to Indiana Elite’s 16 U squad over the summer and has continued his impressive play for Andrew’s Osborne Academy. If Otite stays in the 2027 class he will be incredibly mature his freshman year of college and ready to make an impact right away at the Division I level.

Otite is a hyper active center who did most of his action on the boards by collecting tough rebounds in pivotal spots in the game for his team. He also kept offensive possessions going with his ability to score off 2nd chance efforts. He is an effective screener who has great chemistry with his guards. His is very fluid when he is moving.

Otite simply got it done inside the paint throughout the day for AOA. He now stands closer to 6-foot-10 and does a nice job of setting impactful screens and rolling to the rim with ready, dependable hands and a strong base. He showed good touch around the basket with either hand on those rolls or on possessions where he played with his back to the basket from the block as he converted over his left shoulder. He’s an anchor defensively who can disrupt rim activity with his length, did a good jobs of keeping his arms extended hedging or feathering screens, and uses his wingspan to rip down rebounds at their peak. All in all, he’s a low-maintenance, but productive big who should gain some momentum this season.

Originally from the London UK… Dante is a long rangy physical screen-setting, commanding the boards, grown more coverage-versatile and spacing the floor. Does a ton now, think there’s upside for much more. One of the most efficient bigs watched this weekend at the CBG event. The 6’10 stretch big showed touch/feel. Otite also showed to be comfortable scoring with his back to the basket, pick and roller, lob threat, and serviceable mid-range shooter. Dante is another prospect to monitor in the Elite Prep School League this year.

-Really intriguing blend of skills for a forward prospect with + athleticism. Otite served as an effective shot-blocker both on and off the ball, sprinted the floor in transition to force opponents to tag him and leave shooters open, set physical screens, and guarded both forward spots for his team. Form looked good on his FTs and he hit his only 3 point attempt of the game but he will likely need to develop that area of his game to project to the MM level. The athleticism will be the head-turner for his recruitment as he flashed elite leaping ability on several 2-handed dunks and shot-blocks. Want to see him rebound the basketball at a higher level as he projects to being an undersized 5 at the next level and will need to prove to college coaches that he has the physicality needed to bang on the glass.

Otite made a reclass from the 2026 class to the 2027 class and will be added back into our rankings during the next update. One of the premier shot blockers in the midwest, Otite has impressive vertical leaping ability that is functional on both ends of the court. A lob threat as a roller and a rim protector, Otite makes a big impact in the paint at both ends of the court.

Players don’t have to score the basketball to make an impact and while Otite just scored 4 points on Wednesday, his defensive and rebounding impacts were felt massively with 7 rebounds and while he was only credited for 1 block, it felt like he altered at least 7 or 8 shots at the basket by staying vertical and contesting without fouling. Otite will Reclass into the class of 2027 which is why he is playing with Indiana Elite 16 U at the moment and his Reclass will be reflected in our next rankings update for the class of 2027 in early August.

With the emergence of the Ohio Prep Conference, more talent in the state is being found at various prep programs across the state. Otite is one of the most athletic bigs in the state with his ability to finish at the rim and block shots. An explosive athlete, Otite makes some wow athletic flash plays that few players can match. Otite has another season to improve offensively and add weight to defend in the post. With physical tools you can’t teach, this is a prospect we’ll be keeping our eyes on.

A tough loss for AOA, they are dealing with some injuries and should be stronger with a fully healthy group later in the year. Despite that, Otite was an obvious bright spot for them as he was finishing above the rim in the dunker spot often on Sunday. His guards did a nice job of finding Otite under the rim and he usually finished with a dunk if he had a clear launch point to explode to the rim. I also liked how Otite ran in transition, getting some easy buckets by beating opposing bigs down the court. Otite has the size and athleticism to be a name college coaches get very familiar with this summer.
