Believe it or not, June basketball is just right around the corner which means we will be right back into high school play as summer kicks off. Spring AAU is wrapping up, and that means we look ahead to June where we will see our in-state prospects get back with their respective high school squads for a full month. For the week, we will look at some players for each class and position group as I give you my personal watch list for the month of June. Of course, every player we have in the state is a must-watch, but here are five players in the 2028 class that you should focus on just a little bit more, part one.

It has been pretty clear that one of the top emerging guards in the Indiana class of 2028 is [player_tooltip player_id='2538896' first='Eron' last='McDuffey']. McDuffey has been one of the bright spots for the loaded Indiana Elite 2028 team and is expected to parlay that into June. McDuffey is a player that can make plays both on and off the ball and not get sped up in any way. He plays at a smooth pace being a great ball handler and be a sharpshooter from behind the arc.

Trying to get consistent minutes on Pike last year was tough for an underclassman, but sophomore shooting guard [player_tooltip player_id='2362618' first='Emoni' last='Lewis'] will see an increased role starting in June. Lewis is a 6'3 shooting guard that is dynamic, has good positional size on the perimeter, and can defend on the ball very well. To put it simple, Lewis is a just super athlete on the floor and could end up being one of the bigger stock-risers in the 2028 class. You for sure want to get eyes on him in June.

Another player in the Indiana class of 2028 that is expected to make a big jump in a more increased role at the varsity level is Noblesville small forward [player_tooltip player_id='2539932' first='Barrett' last='Rucker']. Rucker got some varsity run last season, but there is a very big chance that he jumps into one of their "go-to" guys as a junior. Rucker is a bigger wing at 6'5 that has the ability to make plays at all levels. He can step out beyond the arc as a shooter, impact the game with his size inside, and has shown the ball skill to compete as a driver and creator.

One of the more intriguing players in the Indiana class of 2028 comes from Floyd Central High School, 6'9 power forward [player_tooltip player_id='2538842' first='Gavin' last='Scheich']. Scheich has one of the few things you can't teach on the basketball floor and that is size. A versatile big man, Scheich plays above the rim with sneaky bounce and can be a guy that can stretch the floor from behind the arc. There is a good chance is one of the top breakout bigs this summer.

A rising big man that has impressed throughout the spring is Chesterton center/forward [player_tooltip player_id='2560417' first='Thomas' last='Kostbade']. He is one of the more versatile bigs in the Indiana class of 2028 with 6'6 size that can space the floor out while also being good in attacking closeouts. He knows how to use his size to score around the rim while also showing a high-upside skillset all-around. He will be a frontcourt player to keep an eye on this summer.
