We had the opportunity to watch Indiana Game UA Rise 16u take on Indiana Elite 3SSB 16u at Prep Hoops The Stage a couple of weekends ago. Kostbade was a real bright spot for Indiana Game in that matchup. The versatile 6’6″ forward showed off the full range of his skill set. He stepped out to make a three-point shot, drove it right against closeouts, and used his size to score around the basket. High-upside prospect to continue to track in the Class of 2028.

Over the summer Kostbade showed off his skill from the 5-spot knocking in catch-and-shoot 3’s and finishing right hand drives to the rim for Indiana Game on the UA Rise Circuit. The 6’5″ front court prospect from Chesterton High School brought those skills to the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp on Sunday. He really showcased a non-stop motor which allowed him to be consistently effective in both 3-on-3 and 5-on-5 action. Kostbade could carve out a role this coming season for the Trojans in the front court. He is an intriguing long-term prospect.

We watched Kostbade play with Indiana Game 15u on the UA Rise Circuit some this spring and summer and the 6’5″ forward/center really impressed us with his versatility. He can step out to the perimeter to make three-point shots, use his size to score inside, and cleans the glass as a rebounder. It will be nice to check in on the Chesterton High School product’s upside at the Sophomore ID Camp.

A player that we at Prep Hoops Indiana feel is on the rise in the 2028 class is Chesterton center Thomas Kostbade Thomas Kostbade 6'5" | C Chesterton | 2028 IN . At 6-foot-5, Kostbade has great size in the paint that can straight up produce down low on both ends of the floor. In the spring live period, he was a standout player for Indiana Game UA Rise 15u and one that looks like he is setting up for a bigger role come next season as a sophomore. He will be one to watch for Chesterton come June.

This 6’5″ big man prospect from Chesterton High School first caught our attention at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase but has really expanded his game since then. On Saturday at UA Rise Session I for Indiana Game he was big part of a win that including hitting three three-point shots in the fourth quarter alone. His ability to stretch the floor like that, while also finishing a tough reverse Mikan layup in the post, really displayed his growth as a player over the last several months.

Kostbade was among the standouts in terms of big men at our Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. The 6’5″ post player from Chesterton High School stood out on the rim run where he was able to get a couple of easy baskets including a dunk by beating the defense down the floor. His length was a consistent factor on the defensive end of the floor as well. For a young big man, Kostbade displayed solid footwork and overall mobility at his size.

The 6’5″ big man from Chesterton High School displayed the ability to rim run in transition where he got a couple of easy buckets including a dunk. His length was a consistent factor on the defensive end of the floor as well. For a young big man, Kostbade had good footwork and overall mobility/agility.
