We started really pumping Basila as a national prospect in mid-April after seeing how much he had improved even just from the high schools Eason. He then received an offer from Oral Roberts during the live period and now looked like the best player on the floor at the Indiana All-Star Futures Game. Basila, a 6’7″ forward from Chesterton High School earned Most Valuable Player honors finishing with 23 points and 10 rebounds.

. The 6’7″ athlete had an excellent showing on Saturday for Indiana Elite 16u which included a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds in the game we watched in the morning. His athleticism translates to excellent rebounding and a high-upside on the defensive end. He was also effective on the roll consistently creating separation and finishing with strength and explosiveness inside. Basila’s strong play landed him his first offer from Oral Roberts.

of Chesterton. Got another chance to see him over the weekend and was once again with impressed with his raw athleticism around the basket. He was an elite rounder and lob threat in both of the game I was able to watch of Indiana Elite 2028. Hi will surely start getting the offers to start rolling in.

. When it comes to raw, athletic potential, Basila has all that with his strong frame, 6’8 height, and ability to play off the bounce at an elite level. He is true center right now and plays strictly around the rim and with his skill, his potential is limitless. Watch Chesterton this when they face Crown Point and Lake Central.

This 6’8″ sophomore big man is making some serious strides as a player. His strength and athleticism continue to really stand out, but his offensive skill level is coming along. Basila knocked in a three-point shot early in the game and consistently finished around the rim, including a couple of big dunks, on his way to a game-high 19 points as Chesterton defeated Lawrence Central 72-52.

When it comes to raw potential, Basila is at the top of that list in the in-state 2028 class. He was by far the best prospect for Chesterton from what I saw in the game vs. Evansville North. He is really efficient around the basket on the offensive end and plays with such a high motor on the defensive end, being the top shot-blocker I saw at the Fishers Tournament. He finished with 12 points and a mess of rebounds.

- Top Rated center in 2028 class
- No offers, new name in the Prep Hoops Rankings
- Has all the physical tools needed, super athletic, still a bit raw skill wise, insane amount of potential. Will turn some heads this week.

who makes his debut all of the way up at #5. The 6’8″ center made an immediate impact at Chesterton once he got into the rotation later in the season and is a force for Indiana Elite 15u on the 3SSB adidas circuit. Basila checks all of the boxes physically and athletically already. As he continues to develop his skill level and get more comfortable on the hardwood his game will really take off to another level.
