With great size on the perimeter at 6’5, Rucker is a skilled wing that has the ability to make plays at all levels. He can step out beyond the arc as a shooter, impact the game with his size inside, and has shown the ball skill to compete as a driver and creator. 

Rucker burst onto the scene over the summer on the Prep Hoops Circuit with  Refined Indiana  . The 6’5″ wing/forward is so versatile and athletic for his size. Now ranked as a Top 20 prospect in the Class of 2028, the Noblesville High School product came and showed out at the Sophomore ID Camp. He should factor into the rotation for the Millers this season.

We already wrote about Rucker as we identified him as one of our top performers at the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp. The 6’5″ wing/forward showcases such fluid athleticism and offensive versatility. He can step out and hit outside shots, attack the basket off of the dribble, or use his size to score inside. We’ve been high on Rucker since seeing him first over the summer and he reiterated why we have him ranked #20 in the Class of 2028 prospect rankings.

Skilled wing that thrives offensively getting downhill. Not the quickest or most athletic, but uses his body well finishing through contact at the basket. Catch and shoot threat from the perimeter that stays on balance. Can also drive close outs and score efficiently in the midrange. Defensively he guards multiple positions with his size and length. Aggressive rebounder on both ends that rebounds outside of his area. Help side defender that’s aggressive in passing lanes and also showed the ability to be a capable rim protector that alters shots.

I saw a lot of skilled wings throughout the summer and one of the more skilled ones was easily Barrett Rucker Barrett Rucker 6'5" | SF Noblesville | 2028 State IN of Noblesville High School. Running with a very underrated Refined Indiana squad, Rucker established himself as ‘the guy’ for them showcasing his ability to make plays at all levels. He can step out beyond the arc as a shooter, impact the game with his size inside, and has shown the ball skill to compete as a driver and creator. One to watch for Noblesville this season.

Rucker is a skilled combo forward who showed he didn’t need to be a frequent scorer to leave his impact on the game. He used his length on the defensive end to collect rebounds and come up with steals. He made several trips to the foul line and converted regularly. I like how Rucker also showed he could stretch opposing defenses with his shot-making. He intrigues long term with his blend of size and skill and looking forward to see what he can do headed into his sophomore campaign.

When it comes to the 2028 prospects, there are of course many of them that could breakout during Charlie Hughes. One of the more sneaky ones could be Noblesville wing Barrett Rucker Barrett Rucker 6'5" | SF Noblesville | 2028 State IN . He has been a little under-the-radar running with a very good Refined Indiana team on the Prep Hoops Circuit but we have gotten good eyes on him and know that he can step out beyond the arc as a shooter, impact the game with his size inside, and has shown the ball skill to compete as a driver and creator.

Refined Indiana 15u has been one of the most fun, and successful, teams to follow on the Prep Hoops Circuit through the spring. Rucker’s versatility has been a big part of their success. The 6’5″ wing/forward can step out beyond the arc as a shooter, impact the game with his size inside, and has shown the ball skill to compete as a driver and creator. Assuming he still squeaks out another inch or two, and continues to get stronger, there is serious upside to his game.

The 6’5″ wing moves so fluidly for his size and is very comfortable with the ball in his hands. His ability to catch-and-shoot from three-point range, create his own shot off of the bounce, and use his size to score inside is very impressive. Assuming he still grows a couple of inches the sky is the limit for what this Refined Indiana 15u prospect can become.
