Logan Greenwell | Prep Hoops Scout
Athletic rim running big man that put on a show playing above the rim. Long and lanky frame that was a load on the defensive end with his shot blocking ability and rebounding. On the offensive end, he ran the floor with a purpose. Did a good job sealing his man and posting hard. Was excellent in the dunkers spot with his timing on his cuts that made him a beneficiary of some good looks for dunks.

After showing plenty of flashes as a freshman at Borden High School, Scheich has made the move over to nearby Floyd Central High School for his sophomore season. One of the top standouts at the Freshman Showcase a year ago, this 6’8″ forward is overflowing with long term potential. Scheich will help give Floyd Central a very long and athletic front court this coming season.

Scheich was one of the standouts at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase last fall. The 6’8″ forward from Borden High School did a little bit of everything. He stretched the floor beyond the arc for catch-and-shoot three-point shots, drove and dunked it, and protected the rim defensively. We never saw Borden play in person, but he put up 5.5 points, 4.8 rebounds, and just over 2 blocks per game as a freshman. However, we have not tracked him down yet through the spring. It would be nice to evaluate him against some high-level competition.

Another forward/center that we highlighted as one of the top overall prospects in Indiana’s Class of 2028, Scheich is one that we are very high on here at Prep Hoops Indiana. I’ve done this long enough to know what high upside looks like early on and this 6’8″ forward from Borden High School has it. He was excellent at our Freshman Showcase displaying a versatile offensive game with the ability to step out to three-point range or use his size to finish inside. It is safe to assume that he will be making an instant impact at the varsity level this winter.

stock that is out there. Sure, he is a small school kid from rural southern Indiana, but his game is impressive. The 6’8″ forward moves around well for his size and has a very intriguing skill set. At the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase he impressed with his ability to finish with both hands around the basket while displaying some sound footwork. Then, he stepped out beyond the three-point arc and knocked down a catch-and-shoot threat from the corner. There is a lot of upside to work with here.

was easily one of the more impressive big man prospects that we saw at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. With his long frame, Scheich has incredible mobility as a big man and can run the floor so well. When I watched him, he was really solid gathering rebounds as well as being a true rim protector at times. His pick-and-role game was really fluid and he showed off the potential to become a stretch big long term. We will certainly be keeping an eye on Scheich as his high school career continues.

Coming into Sunday’s event we had heard some reports about this 6’8″ prospect from Borden High School. However, the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase offered our first opportunity to actually see him play. That is why our event is so valuable. Scheich was incredibly impressive proving himself as one of the more intriguing long-term prospects in the gym. He can catch the ball on the roll and finish, stretch the defense out beyond the three-point line, and disrupt shots defensively. The fluidity with which he moves at his size and young age is pretty impressive. Scheich is a very real prospect to monitor in the coming years.
