About Boogie
Expert Analysis

Boo Williams went 2-1 on the weekend and Cook made some nice plays as a defender and rebounder for his group. The wing forward crashed the glass well on both ends and has the grab and go ability to start the fast break after securing the rebound. Cook blocked a shot as a help-side rim protector early in the game I caught and did a really good job getting to the foul line as well. Cook also threw a handful of potential assists that weren’t converted by his teammates, but his passing was much better than his assist numbers would suggest. For Cook, making more shots on the perimeter and at the rim should be the key as he did a lot of complimentary stuff well this weekend for a winning team.

Cook moves back up into the top 3 in the class and still has the most long term potential of anyone in the state, in my opinion. Boogie had a strange year after transferring to Ballard and then back to CAL but ended up with a really solid Sophomore campaign and is starting to get some momentum back in his recruitment.

Cook showed why he’s regarded as one of the top wings in the Midwest from the class of 2028. Making a big defensive impact, Cook jumped a couple passing lanes and blocked a 3-pointer. I liked that Cook was using his length and athleticism to make impact plays on the defensive end of the court. Offensively, Cook struggled early to make shots from the perimeter and had a couple early turnovers, but found his rhythm as the game continued with a 18-footer to end the first quarter, a top of the key 3-pointer and a couple of buckets in the paint Vs a zone defense. I want to see Cook get stronger with the ball in his hands and show confidence in the triple threat as an attacker. The potential is all there for Cook to be regarded as one of the top wings in the country for his grade if he continues to develop the offensive side of the court.

Cook has had to wait half his season after transferring from CAL to Ballard then back to CAL before getting eligible over the weekend. Now that he’s back on the court, Boogie will need to prove the naysayers wrong by playing with a strong motor at all times and not floating out to the three point line too often. He still has the athleticism and measurables to be one of the best in this class and a national recruit. Even more than he already is.

Boogie already holds multiple Power 5 offers and has the potential to be an elite recruit and future pro. When his motor is running, there are not many better prospects in the state than Cook. Long term, Boogie could end up an elite prospect in America or could settle in at the mid major D1 level. It all depends on how hard he plays on a game by game basis.

Cook has a truckload of potential and high major schools have started to take notice. Boogie has great positional size and is a big time athlete. It should be a breakout season for the CAL standout and he could thrive under new coach Tim Riley. Boogie was recently ranked in the top 50 in America and is another player that we should probably appreciate while he’s in Kentucky.

Cook holds steady at 2nd overall in the class and was in heavy consideration for the top spot. Boogie has come a long way over the last year and his potential is extremely high. He’s grown and filled out over the last 9 months and should be a big time national target in the near future.

Cook was super impressive in 5 on 5 action in the afternoon. While he may have coasted a little bit in the morning’s station work, Boogie was at his best when it mattered. Consistently playing above the rim on offense, Cook has added some more to his bag and made a few really impressive moves over the course of the day.

Cook moves up from 5th to 2nd and is in the mix for the top spot. Long and athletic, Boogie plays above the rim but also has good developing skills on the wing. A high ceiling/high floor prospect, the 6’7 forward looks like a future national recruit and potential top 100 national talent.

Boogie is a high upside player who could ultimately be in the discussion for the number one spot in these rankings. Long and athletic, Cook plays without fear and will absolutely try to dunk on anyone who gives him the opportunity. Long term, Boogie needs to be near the top of any discussion about college potential in this group.
