The state’s top prospect in the 2028 class, Carter is a talented, versatile wing with excellent size and a well rounded offensive skill set. He can score at all three levels, is an above average athlete, and shows a good feel for the game. With his combination of tools and production, he has significant long term upside and is a name to track closely moving forward.

-Came away impressed with the defensive microskills on display as his attention to detail at that end of the floor as Carter was difficult to screen in the halfcourt. Carter trailed shooters tightly, denied the ball well on the wings and in the corner, did well on switches onto bigs in the low post, and guarded his yard on an island out on the perimeter by remaining disciplined to ignore pump fakes or head fakes. The timing and precision of his cuts to get open at the other end of the floor led to a 50% shooting performance from 3 on a night where Highland needed all of that offensive production. Like the decisiveness of his reads, you can see Carter processing rotations better as the game continues to slow down for the highly-touted sophomore prospect

Given the effortless way he scores the ball, it was easy to recognize his impact. Carter is a smooth, well-rounded guard with great IQ, size, and athleticism. He handles the ball well and can create for himself and others off the bounce. Carter is a willing playmaker but is arguably at his best when looking to fill it up as a scorer from all three levels. He’s an active defender and rebounder. Next in his development process is working on getting stronger, as it would make him a more physically imposing player.

Yet another standout, clean performance for the top-ranked 2028 prospect in VA on Saturday during Highland’s win over Friendship Tech. For as talented of an offensive player as Carter is, what I liked most about his performance was his low-maintenance approach. He isn’t going to dribble the air out of the ball in isos, jack up questionable shots, or break off the offensive set in a negative manner. Instead, he was an active cutter, put his head down and sprinted the lanes, and hovered around the perimeter finding open windows for catch-and-shoot opportunities as others penetrated. Carter scored 13 points on 4-of-7 from the field and 2-of-4 from deep while securing a handful of rebounds in the 57-45 victory.

Continues to be a player for schools to watch. 6’6, long length, smooth shooter off the bounce and catch, crafty in getting to the basket, and can knock down shots from outside. Upside to his game.” Continues to impress and elevate his play. Shot maker from deep, confident from three, and strong overall frame. Impressive summer every time I have watched him play. With the high school season starting it looks like Isaiah finish the game with 13 points on 4-7 2FG & 2-4 3FG, 5 rebounds and 1 steal.

Carter made the move from John Marshall to Highland and has fit in like a glove. His end to end speed and athleticism fit in well with the high pace of play. In the half court, his shooting, off ball movement, and activity on the glass continue to make him productive. He makes momentum swinging plays at both ends of the floor, and has found a real home at Highland right away. I fully expect Carter’s recruitment to continue to soar and he should see himself ranked amongst the top players in the country for the rest of his high school career.

-Carter’s confidence continues to swell as he turned in well-rounded performances fresh off a Team USA Minicamp invite. Carter will have to fill some big shoes this year as the young leader and primary scorer for a Highland group that reloaded effectively this offseason. Carter’s value as a movement shooter with great positional size was shown on made C+S 3 point attempts from all around the perimeter. But he is supplementing that skillset with improved defensively versatility as a wing that can scale up or down several positions to provide a physical defensive threat. Carter is also passing his way out of double teams or kicking out to perimeter shooters amongst the chaos in the paint after snagging offensive rebounds without turning it over while handling the rock with more confidence as a secondary creator. As he improves his feel to mix in more drives and off-ball cuts resulting in FTA– he should develop into a more efficient and consistent scorer this season with the Hawks.

A new name for myself, Carter really stood out in the drills portion of the day. With a smooth perimeter shooting stroke, Carter was knocking down shots consistently with his feet set. With good positional size on the wing and a strong frame, Carter showed the ability to finish through contact with either hand. A leakout dunk allowed Carter to show off his vertical explosiveness as well. Carter is a name I’ll be following the rest of the weekend and beyond.

Isaiah looked good in his outing with Highland. The recent transfer scored 10.5 points per game over the entirety of the live period. Isaiah displayed his pure shooting ability most games, drilling at least 1 three pointer in all but two games. He had a couple high-scoring nights ion double figures, looking good with the ball in his hands. Isaiah looks more confident in his ability as he found consistent minutes during this Live Period. Got great height on his shots and looked confident in his jumper.
