It comes as no surprise that Zachary was a top performer on Sunday. He led his team to the 3Stripes League championship game, but came up just short in overtime despite pouring in 27 points. The Florida Gulf Coast commit is such an outstanding shooter and overall playmaker with the ball in his hands. It will be fun to watch his push for Indiana Mr. Basketball throughout his senior season at Fishers High School.

It shouldn’t come as any surprise that we simply have to write about Zachary. In the second game of the evening he had a stretch that including making four progressively deeper and more difficult pull-up three-point shots off of the dribble. His ability to create separation on the perimeter and make tough shots is so impressive. The recent Florida Gulf Coast commit was, as usual, one of the best players in the gym all night long.

A flashy, high-level playmaker who makes creating offense look effortless. He consistently reads the defense well and delivers passes with either hand, showing the vision and creativity to set teammates up for quality opportunities. His ability to score and knock down difficult shots forces defenses to respect his own offensive game, which opens up even more opportunities for those around him. Despite being a smaller guard, he uses his skill, shot-making, and natural feel for the game to consistently create advantages and make life easier for his team.

I learned quickly during my evaluation of Cooper Zachery that he was a very good shooter on the move and off the dribble. You can put Cooper anywhere along the perimeter; he has the ability to knock down shots at an elite clip. At times during my evaluation, it seemed like Cooper couldn’t miss a perimeter shot. Looking over stats at the Adidas 3SSB in Bryan, Texas, Cooper is someone that can hit a good deal of three-pointers on high-efficiency shooting multiple attempts. Outside of his shooting, Cooper was a big factor in the playmaking category for the Midwest Basketball Club within the offensive flow.  Recently, Cooper committed to Florida Gulf Coast University, where I’m confident he will continue playing at a high level.

Midwest Basketball Club 17u fell in the semifinals on Saturday night, but they wouldn’t have advance out of the quarterfinals if it wasn’t for Zachary. He went on an offensive flurry late in regulation, ultimately forcing overtime and pulling out the victory, against Team Lillard 17u. Zachary scored on three consecutive possessions via a Spain ballscreen and then finished a tough driving left-handed layup to tie the game at the buzzer. He finished with 19 points in the victory.
