A big time shooter who recently earned his first D1 offer, Myrick has a lot of long term potential. Braeden will have to add some muscle to his wiry frame but if he can do that, the sky is the limit thanks to his skill set. Myrick needs to continue growing his game on the ball. Everything he can do in addition to his elite shooting will help him to reach the mid or higher D1 level.

Myrick has had a big spring and summer as well out of the ninth region and he recently picked up his first Division I offer from Cal State Fullerton after a strong weekend at the KABC Bluegrass Summer Shootout. While Myrick is one of the best perimeter shot makers in the midwest, I was actually most encouraged by the fact he had multiple pickpocket steals that led to scores on Thursday afternoon. I assume Myrick is going to get going as a scorer but that defensive effort and intensity is a non negotiable if he wants to play at the Division I level and he certainly brought that intensity for Covington Catholic on Thursday.

Similar to Lyon County, the Colonels also return one the most valuable pieces from their Sweet 16 squad in Myrick. His load as a scorer and facilitator will be heavier than ever but the crafty guard is primed to lead. He put on a scoring clinic at KABC, including 23pt, 28pt, and 32pt performances. He’s one of the most confident stop-and-pop shooters in the state in addition to his evolving ability to run the offense. He picked up his first D1 offer from Cal State Fullerton following the event and its probably safe to say that more collegiate programs will follow suit soon.

Myrick can really shoot the ball at an elite level. If he gets a clean look from deep, it’s going in about 50% of the time.

Between Midwest Basketball Club, the Kentucky Junior All-Stars, and again with Covington Catholic at the IU Team Camp we have seen this prospect play several times already this spring/summer. Myrick is such a talented shot-maker from every level of the floor. He creates his own shot off of the bounce and has the size/athleticism to get it off over defenders consistently, but he is also a high percentage catch-and-shoot threat. Look for more Division I offers to come his way in June and July.

It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see a few offers roll in coming out of the live period for Myrick. He shot the ball at a really high level in both games that we had the opportunity to watch on Saturday at 3SSB Session II in Mishawaka. Myrick is a long, lean 6’4″ guard that can really shoot it from three-point range, but also flashed some smooth driving ability when attacking closeouts. There is a lot to like about his offensive game. One to watch for Midwest Basketball Club 17u.

Myrick helped spark Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB back from an early deficit against Breakaway Basketball as his perimeter shot making was a key reason why his team came out with a win. Myrick is one of the most confident shooters in Kentucky as he walks into any game against any opponent with the expectation to knock down 3-point shots. That confidence went a long way on Friday for his group and should get more Division I and II programs to watch Myrick the rest of the weekend.

One of the top shooters in the rising Senior class, Myrick is part of the Midwest Basketball Club program. A standout at Rupp Arena when the Colonels took on St. Xavier, Braeden is lean but he has gotten stronger and continues to improve at everything outside of shooting the three ball. He’s already really good at that.

Myrick has established himself as one of the best shooters in all of Kentucky. He’s deadly as a catch and shoot wing and continuing to improve off the bounce. Braeden will need to add bulk to his frame but he’s got a lot of tools. Myrick moved up from 22nd to 15th.

In his first season at Covington Catholic after transferring from Mason County, Braeden Myrick Braeden Myrick 6'4" | SG/SF Covington Catholic | 2027 State KY made an immediate and significant impact. He averaged 17 points per game, second on the team, while shooting 54.2% from the field, 45.7% from three-point range, and 87.3% from the free throw line. Myrick knocked down 106 three-pointers on the season, establishing himself as one of the top shooters in the state. He earned NKBBCA Division I All-Conference honors, surpassed the 1,000-point mark for his career, and picked up offers from Kentucky Christian and Tennessee Wesleyan. Myrick played a key role in the Colonels’ success throughout the season.
