I caught Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 15 U on Saturday morning and they wasted no time establishing themselves as a top team at the event, winning two games by 20 points and another by over 50. Brown is an elite perimeter shooter who found his most success with his feet set thanks to good ball movement from his teammates, being shot-ready at the catch and a quick release. One of the top freshman scorers in Kentucky this winter, Brown is showing that he can do that with other talented teammates. Brown will be highly ranked in the Kentucky 2029 rankings when they are next updated.

has played in fewer than 20 games since joining Scott later in the season, but he’s made an immediate impact from beyond the arc, averaging 2.4 three-pointers per game. He’s shooting 39.1% from deep (34-for-87) on the year. Brown carries a scorer’s mentality and the confidence to get to his spots and knock down shots. He’s effective with the ball in his hands and moves well without it, and he doesn’t need much space to get his shot off, even proving capable of converting contested threes.

led the Knights with a team-high 22 points in their matchup with Laramie. He was in a rhythm from deep, knocking down 4 of his 7 three-point attempts, and also chipped in on the glass while handing out two assists. If he continues shooting it at this rate, it likely won’t be long before he records his first 25 point game (in high school)

and the Mater East Knights sit at 2–2 on the season, with Brown already flashing his elite scoring ability early on. He’s topped 15 points in three of the Knights’ first four games, with a current high of 20 points coming against Basic Academy. And he had an efficient performance in the game I saw against Mojave, going 6-for-9 from the field. Watching him play, it’s clear Brown understands how to get to his spots and has the confidence to knock down shots from anywhere on the floor. As he continues to gain valuable varsity experience, expect his impact and consistency to trend upward as the season progresses.

was making it look easy on Saturday. He let it go with confidence from long range and splashed in a couple of 3’s. He also got to the cup and hit a really smooth reverse layup. Although he’s just a freshman, he’s already showing some promise and maturity. And he’ll be an entertaining prospect to watch these next few months.

is bound to splash in quite a few 3’s for Mater East this season. He knows how to get open off ball and he shoots with a ton of confidence. Brown can also hit shots in traffic and he gets to the line. Expect the Freshman to make some waves this season.

Ben Brown played with Democracy Prep down at Section 7 back in June. But he has now transferred to Mater East Academy. Considering his shooting and feel for the game, I believe he’ll be a day 1 contributor for the Knights. I also believe he’ll help space the floor. As he’s not the type of player that you want to leave open in the corner.

has a very consistent shooting stroke. Which helped him take home the 3-point crown on Sunday. I also noticed him burying 3’s in the games and he was driving to the rim as well. In addition to his scoring, Brown can make slick passes and you can tell he see’s the floor well.

has landed in the #2 spot. He is a high level player, especially on offense. He does damage from the perimeter and he can also play off of two feet to get his shot off in the paint. In addition to his scoring, Brown makes an impact by dishing out assists and he can come up with steals. With all his skill, Democracy Prep is sure to find ways to utilize him this upcoming season.
