Last but not least, the lefty Courtney had a big day shooting the basketball for a Covington Catholic team that can put up points in a hurry. Playing best off the catch, Courtney benefits from quick ball movement and floor spacing provided by his guard teammates. A multi-sport athlete for the Colonels, Courtney has the size and frame to make an impact athletically when he attacks downhill and defends multiple positions on the hardwood. With his positional size, perimeter shooting, strong frame and athleticism, Courtney looks like a potential priority small college target on the hardwood and on a Covington Catholic team that graduated a lot of senior production, he’s going to have the opportunity to stand out for a program that expects to remain at the top of the ninth region and pushing for a run at Rupp Arena.

Covington Catholic is likely the early front runner for state title champ in 2026 (them or Male). Dylan barely touched the varsity floor last year but he played significant minutes for Coach Thelen this summer. A longer wing prospect, Dylan has a lot of potential and could be 6’6 or taller in a year. He plays relatively hard and impacts winning in a lot of ways. It’s early and Courtney just got on our radar but he’s a name to watch in northern Kentucky.

I liked some of the things Courtney showed me as a utility piece for an experienced group. The lefty wing grabbed a handful of rebounds and played strong in the paint. Defensively Courtney blocked a shot as a help-side defender and also stole a post entry pass. Offensively, Courtney had a couple interior finishes and displayed soft touch on an 18-foot pull-up jumper. Really liked how Courtney played his role and impacted the game as a rising Sophomore against some talented competition.
