Gahanna has a ton of talented in the 2029 and 2030 classes and Blackmon could be the point guard to help gel their talent together. I was impressed with Blackmon when I saw Midwest Basketball Club 3SSB 15 U in May but his performance in June with Gahanna is what officially made Blackmon enter our rankings. His quickness on the ball makes him tough to stay in front of for opposing point guards and Blackmon sees the floor well to set up his teammates. Add in the fact he can be a tough on-ball defender with quick feet and Blackmon should be one of the more productive underclassmen in the OCC this winter.

Gahanna has a ton of young talent ready to breakout this season and Blackmon was a standout performer on Friday for the young squad. Blackmon is a talented ball handler who can get to a variety of spots on the court off the dribble and create shots for himself and his teammates. Late in the game, Blackmon was the guy Gahanna relied on to create shots and eventually send the game to overtime with timely buckets. I’m incredibly excited to follow this Gahanna core throughout their careers.

I was impressed with Steve on Friday night. The 5’10 freshman made an immediate impact off the bench, knocking down two threes and a pull-up jumper in the first quarter to spark Gahanna. After earning a second-half start, he took on the challenge of guarding Toledo commit Marco Mattucci Marco Mattucci 6'4" | SG New Albany | 2026 State OH a few possessions and forced some tough looks. He added another pull-up jumper in the fourth, played with great energy and leadership, and finished with 12 points, showing he’ll be a key contributor moving forward.

Blackmon is a very talented guard who has the ball on a string. He had multiple combinations of moves that got the defense sliding around and off balance. He is a quick guard who knows how to make defenders flip their hips. My favorite thing about his game is that he was in 2 games that came down to the wire, and he made game-winning plays in both of them. Shows his level of IQ and confidence when his team needs it most, great attributes to have as a point guard.
