A Franklin College commit, Schoonover went off for 25 points and 7 rebounds in Wood Memorial’s 60-45 win over Evansville Christian on Tuesday night. Schoonover has had an excellent senior season for the 17-7 Trojans who are the favorite to cut down the nets in Sectional 64.

The Trojans leading scorer returns after earning All-Conference honors, Houston has a chance to have a huge senior season. The 6’2” athletic shooting guard is one of the more gifted scorers in the area. Smooth stroke with deep range on the perimeter is the highlight of his game, but he has continued to show improvement off the dribble and getting to his midrange game. Noticeably quicker and more athletic, he’s gaining more confidence in getting downhill and finishing at the rim with either hand. He’s a high IQ guard that plays in balance and knows how to use his body to his advantage. Averaged 18 points per game last season, and will almost certainly top that in his senior campaign.

. His scoring ability from all three levels was in full display throughout week 1. High IQ player that makes his teammates better. He impacts the game on both ends. Really good at cutting off the ball and being a play finisher at the basket. Got hot in the second game and helped lead his team back for a win hitting his last three 3’s.

He’s a top notch shooter that plays on balance and has the ability to shoot it from deep range with confidence. Showed the improved skill of being a playmaker for others in the limited live action time at camp. He’s a vocal on both ends of the floor and never seems to get rattled.

One of the top bucket getters in Southwest Indiana, Houston is a 6’2” Senior guard out of Wood Memorial that scores it in a variety of different ways. He’s not the quickest or most athletic, but has a quick first step and good body control to take contact and still finish at the rim. On balanced three-point shooter that shoots an effortless ball. Will be one of the top shooters at camp.

A calculated, versatile scorer that makes no wasted movement. More of an off-ball guard right now, he is continuing to develop his game to becoming a point guard due to his size. He has a strong frame that allows him to play through contact. Really good running off screens knowing how to get open. Has a quick release on his jumper with good elevation. Always seems to be in balance with his perimeter shot. If defenses take his three-point shot he’s able to get in the lane and finish with either a midrange jumper or get all the way to the rim where he’s excellent finishing with his off hand.

Houston is a smooth, confident guard that can score from all over the floor. Really good shooter that is always on balance and elevates well into his jump shot. He has a frame that can take contact while driving to the basket. He competes on the defensive end and has active hands. He continues to get better playing on the ball as a lead guard, but more comfortable off the ball coming off screens.
