Two best prospects in state went head to head, new names emerged, and the transfer portal was rolling. We break it all down in Riverside Brookfield: Scotty B's Friday Notebook!

St. Laurence Adds More Talent to Returning Core

First up we got a look at St. Laurence who is loaded with talent and they even added a couple more pieces. Former OPRF 2027 power forward AJ Enyia is back in state along with his cousin [player_tooltip player_id='2715607' first='Kelechi' last='Enyia'] who is a 2028 wing from Providence Catholic. They rolled over Perspectives 74-36. [player_tooltip player_id='2323617' first='Markese' last='Peoples'] flexed his muscles as the 2027 shooting guard put his head down and got to the rim with burst, crafty finishes through contact, and killer spin move sin the paint. Finished with 23 points. Got a bump in our last update and lived up to it. His 2027 running mate [player_tooltip player_id='2125677' first='Reggie' last='Stevens'] came off the bench popping threes. He is a spot up shot maker that played with a nice motor recording 11 points. Their 2028 prospects [player_tooltip player_id='2385372' first='Noah' last='Corro'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2532014' first='Logan' last='Brown'] both had strong outings. Corro is a lead guard who can play on or off the ball. Comfortable distributing or being a scorer. Drained a plethora of threes for 13 points. Brown is a long and rangy lefty wing that was impactful as a defender with multiple blocks and steals along with scoring in transition. He notched 7 points. Loved what 2027 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2532002' first='Jeremiah' last='Toney'] brought as he was outstanding as a utility guard that scored in transition, off cuts, and hit a three. Connective passer and solid defender. Went for 11 points. In his live period debut with St. Laurence AJ Enyia looked stronger than we remembered at 6'7” doing a solid job on the glass in the second half and had some touch around the hoop. Their ceiling as a team will depend on him being a rim protector and rebounder. Lawrence Burnett was a 6'2” 2029 combo guard to track that brings solid athleticism, defense, and ball handling to the table.

Perspectives top prospect [player_tooltip player_id='1874813' first='Jayden' last='Taylor'] had a few nice moments. Hit a few tough jumpers to start the second half and got to the rack.

Niles North 2027 Duo Emerge in Win over Brother Rice

Two of the biggest rising senior new names of the day were [player_tooltip player_id='2826489' first='Collin' last='Tobin'] and [player_tooltip player_id='2834059' first='Aidan' last='Avila'] from Niles North. Tobin is a 6'2” two guard who brings strength and a ton of shot making to the table. Poured in multiple triples with a free and easy release. Also drained a tough turnaround jumper and had some juice with his handles attacking the cup. Tobin was a straight bucket getter who had 31 points in the victory. His running mate [player_tooltip player_id='2834059' first='Aidan' last='Avila'] is another name to watch in 2027 as a junk yard dog 6'4” power forward who was outstanding on the boards along with consistently finishing through contact. We had him for 17 points. [player_tooltip player_id='2834108' first='Dominic' last='Mann'] is a 6'1” two guard that flashed as a shooter along with throwing nice outlets. Judah Maxwell is a 6'6” four man that is a solid rebounder and moves feet defensively in the 2028 class.

Big game for Brother Rice 2028 power forward [player_tooltip player_id='2632084' first='Daniel' last='Salkauskas'] as he went to work to the tune of 22 points. Face up four man with legit size had the deep ball working getting it off with a high release point and fluid mechanics. Drained four of them in the game. Added some strength, rebounded at a nice clip, and was comfortable putting it on the deck as well. Adam McBreaty is usually known as a sharp shooter from three, but the lefty was crafty scoring in the paint in this game for hook shots. Aiden Henderson is a speedy 2027 guard that pushes the pace and has a solid pull up game.

Top 3 Prospects in State Clash as Neuqua Valley Wins vs Bolingbrook

It was the #1 vs #2 2028 prospect in [player_tooltip player_id='2531973' first='Brady' last='Pettigrew'] vs [player_tooltip player_id='2531981' first='Cole' last='Kelly'] along with help from soon to be new #1 in 2027 [player_tooltip player_id='2839878' first='Mason' last='Martin']. Neuqua Valley got the W 84-56. Kelly was outstanding in the game showcasing his well-rounded game. One of the best passers in the state operating as almost a point-forward for Neuqua. Sees the floor so well in both the half court and is elite in transition finding guys ahead on the money. Did a nice job getting on the glass for multiple second chance points. Legit three level scorer that can get to his spot for lethal jump shot or put it on the deck to the rim. He had 16 points. Illini commit [player_tooltip player_id='2839878' first='Mason' last='Martin'] was playing in front of his future head coach in addition to multiple assistants. Put on a show with his shot making from three pouring them in one after the other. Ran the floor hard and is more than just a spot up shooter as he worked out of the mid-post banging in several for 19 points. Like the supporting cast they have as [player_tooltip player_id='2392385' first='Arshil' last='Khimani'] had 13 points while Luke Balgro notched 12. [player_tooltip player_id='2415557' first='Carter' last='Coviello'] is a plus spot up shooter while [player_tooltip player_id='2819759' first='Hunter' last='Rheaume'] brings versatility and some size for Neuqua.

[player_tooltip player_id='2531973' first='Brady' last='Pettigrew'] was spectacular in this game. The Bolingbrook star had 22 points in the loss. Poured in tough jumpers one after another. Created with his handles then pulled up on a dime for crisp jumpers. Also took it to the rack with force finishing through contact and threw down a nasty alley-oop.

Top 20 2027 Under Recruited Duo Put on Show Emerging in Front of Coaches

The great part about the live period is players get to shine for their high school teams in front of college coaches at the D1 level. Two of the more under heralded 2027 prospects in the state took full advantage of the opportunity on Friday as West Aurora edge past Andrew 75-74. West Aurora 2027 point guard [player_tooltip player_id='2125687' first='Travis' last='Brown'] was absolutely dominant in his performance scoring 30 points including the game winner and a steal to seal the game. Slick handling lead guard that had the jumper flowing in this game hitting threes, step backs, turnarounds out of the post, and crossing man for mid-range shot. They were all falling. Also was assertive attacking downhill with his speed that is second to none finishing with great body control at the cup. Made winning plays down the stretch taking a charge, game winning bucket, and steal to close the game. [player_tooltip player_id='2389398' first='Orlando' last='Edwards'] Jr is a rangy guard that brought the help in this one for Brown to the tune of 17 points. Almost all of his points came attacking the cup on straight line takes showcasing his burst and acrobatics at the rim.

[player_tooltip player_id='2839876' first='Ryan' last='Dinnon'] out of Andrew is a skilled face up four with a broad shouldered frame.
