Kerrigan will take on paint duties for a deeply rounded out Dolphin squad this season. He adds size and athleticism to the interior. I had not seen Kerrigan play since our showcase last Fall and he has grown in height while continuing to add coordinated touch to his game. Offensively he showed a nice jumper from 15 feet and gathered an offensive rebound to go back up and score vs more height. His size will present challenges around the basket with athletic fluidity on both sides of the ball.
Kerrigan is a 6’6” four man that is a solid positional defender. Blocked a shot and was a presence around the hoop. Had a steal which he immediately turned into an assist.
Made his presence felt as a rim protector, coming up with multiple blocks and consistently contesting drives in the paint. Showed strong awareness defensively, staying vertical to avoid fouls while still disrupting shots. Offensively, positioned himself well around the basket to find open looks and convert easy buckets.
Had great activity in the early 3 on 3 sessions. Moves feet horizontally at a quick rate to stay in front of the ball handler. Can guard 1 on 1 in the open area. Maintains fundamental positioning off the ball. Screens the ball on offense and knows how to use body to clear space. Consistently was in the area for rebounds. Overall, had a great presence in using IQ and skills to make a positive impact.
