Johnson plays with good pace and is able to change speeds with the ball in his hands. He uses quite a bit of hesitation and shiftiness to manauver defenders in order to get space. Showed versatility as a scorer and looked settled on catch and shoot opportunities from three. His speed showed in the open floor where he can get to another level in transition and finish. Defensively Johnson had awareness away from the ball and recognized opportunities to provide help and in trapping scenarios. Situationally he has sound feel on both ends.

You wanted the ball in Johnson’s hands at the end of a close game. He consistently made the right basketball play whether it was finding an open teammate or attacking the rim to draw a foul with five seconds to play. I would love to see Johnson work on consistency with his free throw shooting, as he wasn’t able to close out the game I watched, but the shiftiness, intelligence, and fearlessness driving to the hoop were all undeniable.
