Illinois is known for producing talented guards and Smith-Holley is the top lead guard in 2028 from Illinois. The Mac Irvin Fire 16 U lead guard had a monster showing on the Prep Hoops circuit a few weekends ago with his explosive athleticism and quick burst allowing him to thrive in transition and as a driver. Smith-Holley was one of the most productive points guards at the 15 U level last summer on the EYBL and picked up an offer from Illinois last Fall. Found on the consensus rankings, Smith-Holley is very close to finding his name on other national rankings top 100 lists.

Amarion showed why he’s so hardly regarded in Illinois’ 2028 class with a big time performance in a comeback win for Mac Irvin Fire . He’s already such an explosive athlete, and it’s scary to think what two more years of high school + a year in a college weight room could do to him. Amarion flew to the basket for three dunks, and showcased impressive body control for a number of acrobatic lay-ups in traffic. Able to just hang in the air and find ways to score over taller players. The 2028 guard added in some pull-up jumpers with a few drive-and-kick assists to help his team come away with the win.

continues to be a dominating force of a nature in the back court for one of the most premier AAU clubs in the country. It would be hard to argue against a more exciting and fast back court duo along with the other guard on Mac Irvin’s 16U club this year in MarQwan Morgan. The pace of play Holley brings is exuberating to say the least. His explosion and quickness with the ball is un-human like. The bounce he possesses at the rim is also on an elite level. The future continues to be bright for the young point guard from Peoria.
