One of the top uncommitted senior big men in the state this year is without question Indianapolis Roncalli center [player_tooltip player_id='2046166' first='Joe' last='Taylor']. Right now Roncalli is 6-0 on the season with a big part of that being because of Taylor's double-double average of 14 points and 10 rebounds. At around 6'8, Taylor is one of the more predictive big guys you find on the low block with great footwork and an ability to score with both hands consistently. With multiple offers from nearly all levels, you can watch Taylor this week vs Triton Central on Friday and at Park Tudor on Saturday.

There may not be a big man in the state that is having a better start to the year than what [player_tooltip player_id='3068383' first='Devin' last='Bolden'] is for Cardinal Ritter. As of this writing, Bolden is averaging an extremely impressive double-double of 22.2 points and 15 rebounds per game. Having big game after big game this season, Bolden has gotten more athletic and bouncier around the post and is still and elite finisher through contact. Cardinal Ritter will be competing in the Lawrenceburg Tournament this week.

The 2028 class is full of electric guard and one of the top ones in that group is without question Kokomo's [player_tooltip player_id='2468939' first='DJ' last='Nash']. A big part of the 5-1 start for Wildkats has been because of Nash's play with him averaging 14.8 points, over 6 rebounds, and 3.0 assist per game. At 6'3, Nash is a versatile wing who thrives in an up-tempo style, using his physical tools and bounce to impact the game both inside and out. You can watch him during the Kokomo Tournament this week.

3 Teams

Ben Davis (4A) – No matter the 2-2 start for the season, the Ben Davis Giants are the still the Ben Davis Davis Giants and will still be one of the best Class 4A teams in the state. After back-to-back losses to Fishers and Zionsville, the Giants have rallied off two wins over Warren Central and Brownsburg to get back to .500. They are led by Akron signee Jashawn Ladd with 16.5 points with [player_tooltip player_id='2471408' first='Sherman' last='Moss-Wright'] adding 13.0 points. You can watch the Giants this week when they compete in the Richmond Tournament.

Shelbyville (3A) – One of the sneaky contenders in Class 3A this season are the Shelbyville Golden Bears. With really nice wins over schools such as Greenwood, Yorktown, and others, the Golden Bears are 6-1 on the season with their only loss coming against Mt. Vernon-Fortville. For Shelbyville, it all starts with senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561061' first='Caden' last='Claxton'] who's is averaging 14.7 points with fellow senior guard [player_tooltip player_id='1561096' first='Mar' last='Nicholson'] adding 13.0 points and other senior [player_tooltip player_id='2382230' first='Brody' last='Runnebohm'] adding 12.4 points. They have a chance to really make a statement in the Richmond Tournament this week.

University (2A) – I think we can once again put the University Trailblazers in the category of contenders in Class 2A this season. After coming so close to cutting down the next last March, University has started the 2025-26 season 3-2 with their wins coming over Herron, Seton Catholic, and Ritter. Through five games, they have 4 guys scoring in double figures with those four being [player_tooltip player_id='2630646' first='Faisal' last='Mohamud'], [player_tooltip player_id='2887162' first='Joshua' last='Henderson'], [player_tooltip player_id='1560954' first='Josh' last='McGee'], and [player_tooltip player_id='1282878' first='Blake' last='Gray']. After a long break, University will compete in the Bethesda Christian Tournament this week.
