Pokorney simply impacts winning. He is the primary reason why Chesterton has overachieved many preseason expectations and sit at 8-2 on the season after a fifth place finish at the Fishers Holiday Hoops Classic. The Taylor University signee finished with 17 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals as the Trojans defeated Lawrence Central 72-52.

While he may have started off the game a little slow, the senior wing stepped up at the right time for the Trojans in their tough loss vs. Evansville North. Pokorney did what he did best, and that was score the basketball. He finished with a team-high 15 points, hitting some smooth outside jumpers, but also creating in the lane and scoring at the rim. Just a high-IQ player.

We usually try to focus on guys who don’t get as much publicity in these write-ups, but this article wouldn’t be complete without talking about Pokorney’s performance on Tuesday night. He looks like someone poised for a breakout at the Charlie Hughes Showcase. The 6’4″ guard was shooting the lights out from deep, creating his own mid-range pull-ups, and then scoring via back cuts as the defense would overcommit. It was as good as we have seen him play. Look for there to potentially be some new scholarship opportunities come his way over the course of the next week.

We know this Chesterton guard is an excellent offensive player. However, he really took some things to another level on Friday at Purdue. The 6’4″ guard made some tough shots from all levels while displaying great body control. Pokorney uses his size and athleticism to make a lot of jump shots, but can space the floor as a catch-and-shoot threat or use his size to get all of the way to the rim. It is easy to see why the Crossroads League is already recruiting him heavily.

He will be once again running with Indiana Game US Rise this AAU season and he is entering his most important grassroots year. At 6-foot-4, he brings a ton of length on the wing with smooth moves that on-and-off the ball to get a bucket. He is capable of heating up quickly in any game that he is in and it would not be shocking to see him have one or two high scoring outputs this weekend in Cincinnati.

A borderline Top 30 prospect in Indiana’s Class of 2026, Pokorney will be a priority among scholarship small coach programs this summer. He showcased his pure scoring ability at the Windy City War putting up a team-high 18 points in a 69-60 win over 1 Dream Basketball on Saturday afternoon. Pokorney has great positional size and is a high-percentage jump shooter. The way he scores the basketball will translate smoothly to the next level.
