One of a trio of South Ripley High School freshmen that got some varsity experience last season, Gilpin will step into a go-to roll for the Raiders as a sophomore. The 6’3″ guard has excellent positional size and athleticism in the backcourt. He has the ability to create his own shot from all levels, but is especially dangerous when getting downhill and attacking the rim. It will be good to see him in an expanded role this season.

, representing South Ripley High School. At around 6’3″, Gilpin was one of the hardest-working players I saw on Sunday, using his strong frame to play aggressively underneath the basket. He also stood out as one of the better defenders on the day.

Gilpin is another one of those very talented freshmen from South Ripely High School that we saw at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase. At 6’2″, Gilpin is a taller two-guard that has so much smoothness to his game. He also showed that he was willing to compete on the defensive end of the floor. Projects as a true thee-and-D player long term. Look for Gilpin to get significant run at the varsity level this season for the Raiders.
