The Shelbyville Golden Bears have been one of the best teams in all of Class 3A this season and a big reason to that has been the play of senior point guard

. The 5’11 on-ball guard will come in the postseason leading the Golden Bears with 17.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. Toughness is the best word to describe Claxton — he competes hard on both ends of the floor despite his smaller size. You can watch him this week when Shelbyville opens up Sectional play vs the winner of Greenwood and Rushville.

Claxton will finish his career as a four-year major contributor at Shelbyville High School. The 5’10” guard averaged 15.1 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 3.9 assists per game as a junior while shooting an impressive 55-149 (36.9%) from three-point range. His ability, as a smaller guard, to consistently create his own shot off of the dribble is very impressive. Small college programs should continue to recruit him hard heading into his senior season.

You could make a strong case that the senior guard from Shelbyville may have been the best pure shooter from deep. Claxton did a very good job of creating looks both on and off the ball and would step up and hit threes with a lot of confidence in his shot. He may be on the shorter end but is easily one of the tougher guards that you will find here at the Prep Hoops National Open Championship. Really impressive scoring from him today.

He is a lead guard, a true PG. Claxton does a good job finding the open man and runs the pick-n-roll to a T. Caden is a high percentage shooter from three-point land and a good on-ball defender.

Claxton averaged 16.5 points per game for Grand Park Premier White who went 2-2 at the Havoc in the Heartland. The 5’10” guard is a consistent shooting threat and does a good job of finishing around the basket against size. One of the craftier small guards you will find in Indiana’s Class of 2026.

White 17u this spring, Claxton has once again caught our eye over at PH Indiana with his consistent strong play on the hardwood. A guy that can produce at a high-level at nearly every spot on the floor, Claxton is a tough player that has elite shot-making ability. Shelbyville looks like they can be a great team next year so it will be fun to see Claxton and them in June.

Typically one of the best teams at our events, Grand Park Premier White 17u ran into some very tough competition to being their run at the Havoc in the Heartland. However, they got themselves into the win column on Saturday afternoon with a hard fought win over Legacy Ice Elite 17u. Clayton, a 5’10” guard from Shelbyville High School, led the way with 20 points in that victory.
